For me it would have to be SN's Torpedo and DFH 90 Minute. Both are excellent, however. An almost perfect balance of hops, pine, and citrus, with stronger notes of the malt. What are yours??

Lately, I thought both Smuttynose's Finest Kind and Ninkasi's Total Domination were a little more malt forward in a really pleasing sort of way.

SN Hoptimum strikes me as pretty balanced. That means most hop-heads I think would call it "malt-forward".

If I'm not mistaken that Snapperhead in the yellow can is billed as an "all malt IPA"?

If I want a malty IPA (and I do often when Autumn lands) I reach for HopDevil

I've tried Hop Devil, and I agree.... very malty and bitter.

tried all of the ipas mentioned in this thread. did not like Commodore Perry or DFH 90 Minute at all.

Space Cake is good but I got it fresh, so the hops hadnt receded into the malts, and I found it to be very citrusy and piney.

Great Lakes Chillwave has the best malt profile for an ipa that Ive had. Well balanced, but not a hop bomb, malt foward with a very dry hoppy finish.

Can I ask you where you found Space Cake and Chillwave in NY? I'm in NYC, but travel to the Albany area frequently.

I feel as though Jai Alai is very well balanced and more "malt forward" than most hop bombs of IPA's these days.

Spacecake I found at Wholefoods in Paramus NJ, and I buy cases of Chillwave when its in season at Tanczos in Bethlehem ,PA.

Clown Shoes and Great Lakes do have some distribution in NYS, but it is very limited, and Ive never seen either brand in the Union Territory (NYC)
