Malt Forward IPA/DIPAs

    I guess you never had the original P. Ballantine & Sons India Pale Ale (~60 IBUs) or their Burton Ale (~60-70 IBUs)? Both were adjunct-brewed (corn grits). I'd say it is probable that most pre-craft US IPAs and other hoppy ales were adjunct-brewed.

    I will add that I like Hop Devil since it is rather unique as well. It is a quality beverage that I enjoy very much. I just find it difficult to refer to it as an IPA since it isn't really pale.

    Thats because Celebration was an inspiration for this beer and that beer used a good deal of caramel malts. When Vienna was added a base malt the color is deep copper. Glad you enjoy it!

    Firestone's Double Jack leans malty for me.
