Maltodextrin for milkshake ipa

    just got maltodextrin instead of lactose by accident at the lhbs. Is that going to do roughly the same thing or should I go back tomorrow?

    Just residual sweetness/body I guess.

    I think lactose is sweeter than typical maltodextrin. But neither is really very sweet. Body-wise, I'd call it a toss-up, though I haven't compared in identical recipes.

    If the effect is the same I would rather use maltodextrin as it would be vegan and lactose intolerant friendly. Might give it a shot this time.
