Bought 3 bottles today at local store. Is it just me or does it seem like the ticketed founders events aren't really worth it? I guess if you lived close it would be cool to get the bottles early. But I have gotten KBS, Doom, and now Mango Magnifico the day they hit distribution at about $1 over what they were at the release. Any others thoughts on this?

As a dude from chicago I find them to be pretty cool. I get guaranteed bottles (which is pretty rough in the truck chasin-mad max styled post-beer apocalypse that is chicago) and it gives me a reason to visit the brewpub, try it on tap, enjoy some french bread pizza, a veggie sandwich, try other things on tap (like 2012 backwoods bastard), and a stop at scillianos. Its a nice kick in the @ss for a FIB to go visit the brewery he loves.

I found this beer entertaining. I think that's a good word for it. As others have said the first sip is all mango but then the throat starts to burn a little. I didn't necessarily taste the habanero, only felt the burn. Drink more and the burn sticks around becoming more prevalent with the mango actually taking a backseat.

I'm super impressed with how well they hid the 10% ABV. It's likely the habanero doing the work but this isn't a thick boozy beer by any means. Great job Founders!

Yep. It does sound pretty ridiculous to me now.

I was really disappointed when this was announced as the next backstage. I've been pretty damn critical of Founders as of late (justly so)

That said, I really enjoyed this. Super ripe mango, very sweet, very pleasant mouthfeel, and absolutely no hint of the 10% alcohol. Habenero leaves your lips and throat tingling, but it's not hot.

    I'll buy a few bottles.

I am actually just the opposite on all of this! Except, I am no grandma either... I don't like hot stuff much at all, and I have tried spicy beers before and really didn't like them at all. This on the other hand I truly enjoyed! I thought it blended perfectly with the mango. To me the mango really settled down the spice and made it even more enjoyable. I wont buy any bottles, but it was an enjoyable beer to have on tap and I may regret not picking any up...

Fully agree on releases like this that everyone is not crazy about. Why go through the ordeal of getting tix if it's going to be in the stores and easy to find? KBS and beers like CBS (if it ever comes out again) are probably a must as a ticketed event. I would rather take my chances on beers like this latest, in the stores.

Wow, it's right around $13 give or take a dollar in West Michigan.

I emailed Founders. I asked the owner/manager if he knew retail suggested by Founders was $13 and he said he did.

Just picked up 8 bottles as I usually do on Founders releases. There was still 2.5 cases at the bottle shop. Cant wait to crack this one open later this evening. I loved the tap-house only, BA habenero spite last year. I saw frangelic in the store the other day also. PM if interested in frangelic because I bought too many.

This is going to be available at Holiday Market tomorrow (for those of you in the area). I've heard mixed reviews about this, definitely going to give it a shot though.

Ya gotta stop telling everyone about the releases at Holiday. It's tough enough to buy limited stuff there

Saw a few bottles of this while in Saginaw at the Westwood Party Shop on State St west of Center. I grabbed one but have yet to drink it. It sounds delicious, but who knows.
