Hey, my trip is week left so I'm detailing my trip. Since my gf is coming with me and she isn't a drinker so if I pub crawl a lot I will get my back smashed. So I'm looking for a pub with decent foods, or decent restaurant with nice beer list. I know the price is very high in NYC, but I want to keep it low. Simple foods like burgers or tacos, everything is fine. I want to try as many as local beers except OH & Threes since I'm visiting their brewery on day 1. So long story short,
    • I'm looking for a pub with foods.
    • Foods should be cheap. Not expecting a course meal, food truck level foods will be fine.
    • Beer list should include couples of local beers like Grimm, Singlecut, Finback, etc...
    Thanks in advance, cheers!

That's tough. Mahattan ($$$) + craft beer ($$$) + cheap foods ($) = doesn't add up IMO. Why not just pick up food elsewhere / at a truck / on the way? If you are willing to put $15-20pp into food you can get to some pretty nice places.

The Jeffrey & Rattle & Hum (West) are two i think of right away. Jeffrey has some of the best tap lists in the city, food is good and not overpriced. There are many you will find. Eve

I think that sounds better than my plan. Any place suggestion with those prices? Can spend some money a day or two  Thanks

Thanks, I'll add them to my map!

I also recommend either of the two Rattle N Hum locations (original location and "West"). Take a look on beermenus.com to see what they are pouring when you are here. Food menus on their websites.

Lupulo had a good burger (though seafood is the main event) and an absolutely spectacular draft list last time I was there.

I'd recommend Milk & Hops for light sandwiches and snacks and great bottled and draft beer. Also, Whole Foods Columbus Circle has stepped their food game up with ramen and baps and such at the pub and excellent drafts and cans and bottles.

I'm not much impressed with the food at Fool's Gold but it's made up for with the draft list and prices.

Oh and if you really want a unique adventure, trek up to the Arthur Ave market. Grewt spot to get eggplant parm or other classic Italian subs and then you can eat at the little beer hall next door. You may find a gem or two on tap and/or in cans/bottles.

I know you said cheaper, but Marta might be a "splurge" dinner. Great pizza, nice space, and excellent draft list.

I also second the Jeffrey and Milk & Hops.

You can always hit up Rattle N Hum on 33rd Street if you end up eating in Koreatown (assuming you're korean -- which i am as well)

Blind Tiger has some good sandwiches, tacos, and small plates to keep the prices down and they always have a few great local beers on tap.

Echoing the above (and adding to my previous post). Blind Tiger is a good choice... so is One Mile House.

As Is typically has a phenomenal tap list and does serve food. I haven't eaten there though, so I can't speak to the quality.

Thanks everyone! Just one more question, are there any pub or restaurants or place that I can bring my bottle and open? In Korea we just go to a park or some geek-y craft beer pub to share beers, I'm seeking for simiar things in NYC.

I think you'd have to ask the place in advance. Some places will let you do it but will charge you an "uncorking" fee. If you go to a restaurant that doesn't serve any alcohol they might have a BYO (bring your own) policy in which case it wouldn't be an issue. I can't recommend any specific places.

Fool's Gold, Ginger Man and Pony Bar have great tap lists and solid food.

Use www.beermenus.com to check out their tap lists (and hope they're up to date) before you make a trip out to any of these spots.

Just went to As Is last week for the first time. Tap list and food were both excellent. Highly recommended.

Also wanted to suggest Barcade. The food there kind of flies under the radar because the of beer and arcade games but it's quite good. Enjoy your trip!
