As for the rankings, I'm not sure quality is really a good measure, particularly since it is based on the dubious BA ratings. Accessibility and variety would be the two biggest factors in my book - in other words, how much different craft beer is available within a short walk from the average seat? With bonus points for a craft-centric area like the one described in Cincy that offers tons of options.

Yeah, Fenway pretty much has Goose Island and BMC. I don't think they even have Sam Adams and it's like 4 miles away from the brewery.

Maybe I'm remembering wrong about that, but I remember when I went to Fenway like a month ago I ended up drinking Shock Top and I can't imagine choosing that if Boston Lager was available.

Yankee Stadium and Fenway both suck for beers, which is a shame. for the ticket prices people are paying especially, you'd expect something more than Goose Island Honkers Ale to be the best beer in the entire stadium :astonished: that's why I usually hit up a beer bar before the game.

looking forward to checking out the selection at Coors Field when I visit in a month.

Was just in Atlanta for the game Saturday (and left before the insane 4 hour rain delay ended). I agree; while the Sweetwater concession is pretty nice, there aren't any of the smaller guys represented from the area.

If Safeco is number one, beer selection at ballparks in general just must not be that great.

That's only because Asheville doesn't have a MLB top level pro team... :stuck_out_tongue:

Kinda surprised the Blue Jays/Rogers Centre isn't last on the list. Nothing local, small selection and it's all BMC products, and expensive!

But a good call for Safeco; a great stadium!

Wasn't surprised to see Chase field at the bottom of the list, but it reflects our relatively poor local craft beer scene in general. Chase does have the cheapest beers in MLB, so I guess it's more about quantity over quality and quantity is needed for the season the Dbacks are having.

Hilarious. They obviously never went to Petco Park...they have multiple stands for Stone, Ballast Point, Alesmith, Manzanita, Green Flash, etc...Padres games are fun!

The best beer city has the best beer selection

follow the link to the Washington Post article. It does take that all into consideration. It breaks it down to every beer they sell, and how good those beers are. San Diego is ranked 8th.

    from the Washington Post article:

    About our rankings
Our rankings determine the overall status of beer available in each MLB stadium by considering three factors. Quality is determined by the number of beers ranked “very good” or better, according to BeerAdvocate.com. Locality is how many breweries represented are based in the same state as the team. Uniqueness is the number of breweries available only at one MLB stadium. Each of these rankings is given equal weight.

The beer lists were submitted by MLB teams or their concessionaires during the first three months of this season; many teams slightly alter their offerings as the season goes on.

Fenway has Sam Adams Lager and Summer I believe. Definitely Harpoon IPA. But...most of the decent beer is in an area (new for those of us who've been going for years) on the right field/1B side of the park (in what was old offices/garage). If you are seated in the Monster Seats or Bleachers, you don't have access to that area, and from the 3B side it is a long walk.

It's Milwaukee. Surprisingly, Coors Field has both Bud and Miller products plus decent craft offerings.
