So good experiences: shout it to the world how good a beer is and hype it up

Bad experiences: keep it between yourself and the brewery

No need to dream up an argument. I never said that.

I said no need to call people names and whine like a child. There's also need for dramatics. But then again, I guess it is the interwebs. Of course it should be mentioned if there are bad cans.

I'm going off of what I know, every can I've had hasn't been very good.

All forums, including BeerAdvocate are for tossing around opinions, it's only an insult to you because you have some sort of loyalty or preference towards this beer.

The only insult is you calling those on this thread who say they like the beer a hyping homer. All the while sounding like a kid who didn't get what they wanted for Christmas. Just suggesting you contact the brewery. Do you what you want, kiddo.

Yes...loyalty or preference. You see so much...

Funny, since I lived in Wisconsin for almost 30 years, but I get lumped into being a TX homer now. I just call a good beer a good beer when I taste it. Don't really care where it is from. If your experience was different, that's unfortunate, but we are dealing with consumable goods which are subject to variability from batch to batch as well as canning to canning in this case.

@TX-Badger there are other people besides you on this thread hyping it.

@Techichi kiddo? Contact the brewery? If they're not aware of BeerAdvocate and this thread in 2017 I feel sorry for them.

Pretty much though. You said you would contact the brewery about the "off batch" of cans rather than whining online after someone voiced a complaint.

Yeah...kiddo. Ok then don't contact the brewery. I'm just saying I would as they will probably try to make it up to you. At least it's more productive then whining.

Yes whining. I never said it shouldn't be mentioned here. In fact I believe it should be. If you bothered to read I repeated the sentiment myself and even mention I felt the cans weren't as good as the first release (even though I didn't get any "dark malty" cans).

    So...keep on trying?

    Lol, okay dude.

People mentioned that at least some of this beer was off/bad/not living up to hype built in this exact thread, a discussion began about it and then you admonished the critics for whining online about it.

Wow, you just have to make shit up, huh? You don't even come close to reality, so I'm not bothering after this.

I didn't admonish the critics. I said mig100 was whining and calling names. That is all. Have a nice day.

The two six packs I bought where darker and not nearly as juicy as the first batch. They where still pretty drinkable but I hope the next batch gets back to what the first batch was.

No, not even close to hyping it. I'll leave that to brewery fanboys. Letting people know about a very good beer when you have one is not even remotely hyping it. Hyping it would be attempting to increase the trade value of an every day beer, saying it is just as good as '.....' fill in the blank.

I'll even quote my first post:

"I thought this was a pretty citrusy, dank, and dry on the finish IPA. If y'all have the chance to get your hands on some, I would! I was pleasantly surprised to find this so drinkable at only 6% as well. For those always requesting citrusy, dank IPAs, I think this may suit your fancy."

I would hardly say that is "hyping" it, but if that's your definition, to each their own.

As to your second point, not everyone has the time to sit on a forum all day and sort through tons of threads. Surprisingly enough, not everything in the "beer-world" revolves around BA and their forum. People making the beer might actually have better things to do with their time than spend it on a forum. Some breweries participate like Jester King, they chime in every now and again on here, some don't. Yes, contact the brewery. There are many example of breweries being directly contacted by consumers and making things right, versus someone on a forum hiding behind a keyboard and anonymity. If someone was that critical of a product I produced, I would want to know some specifics about it and know who that person is, so that I could make it right, as many breweries do.

So can we all agree that Friday IPA is solid DFW offering by most accounts, but no______(fill in with your favorite NE IPA)? :grinning::wink:

I really don't want to continue the fight, cause none of this is that big of a deal but wanted to respond.

    1) Hyping it/touting it, whatever you want to call it I think is semantics. It was being talked up on this thread is all I meant.

    2) I do get your point, but I don't need to have it "made right." I bought a few cans, wanted to share an opinion and based on the experience won't be buying any more.

The argument that "not everyone has time/people have better things to do" is bogus. Everyone has time to browse around online, regardless of how busy they are and someone who should make time is the brewery themselves.

This is their business that they spend a lot of effort, resources and money working on to satisfy consumers and keep them coming back for more. BeerAdvocate is the number 1 beer site in the world, and is known industry-wide. They distribute to TX only. I just would hope, even from a business standpoint they're looking at what's being said here.

    3) I was never that critical of it, just felt it was being misrepresented. But I do realize my experiences were different than some others.

No, not everyone has time to spend perusing online forums, soooo not bogus. In addition, there are many people who simply don't find doing much of anything online worth their time because they would be arguing with keyboard heroes. Hell, I know of many people who don't have any form of social media, that's their prerogative, they truly feel their time is better spent in other ways.

I'm on the forum because I do find it to be useful.... at times.

Not sure I can add anything at this point, but I had one can of the first batch and I was impressed, particularly in view of my previous experience with Martin House. I went through a sixer of the second batch when it was fresh and I can't say I had as bad an experience as my brother, but it was barely recognizable compared to the beer I remember. Diminished hop character and fairly malty.

It should be out by now, they posted on Instagram that cans should be hitting shelves this week. I plan on stopping by Central Market Southlake today, will report back when I do.
