RAR Pulp being released on Saturday is NE style IMO. The other DIPA release Lumber Sexual was brewed with Lupulin powder which I think Trill, Veil, Tired Hands, Other Half & Monkish have used in the past to do NE-style. So I'm curious to see how it turns out.

I'm in Annapolis too. Aslin in NOVA is what you're looking for. An hour drive or so on a weekend morning.

That is a great beer, and no camera tricks folks, that is exactly what it looks like.

You have to make your way out to Cambridge and grab some Crowlers or Growlers of RAR brews man. The widely distributed Nanticoke and Groove City are good beers (I love Nanticoke) but their beers that they have in the Taproom and the beers they release are world class. Pulp, the just released Lumbersexual, and Stunt **** are all pretty "NE Style" Juice Bombs. Their 1st Meal and 10 Layers are both incredible stouts.
Drive a little further out to Berlin and Burley Oak is putting out some NE style brews as well with Haze Craze and Savage IPA to a certain extent.

Independent Brewing Co. in Harford county has 2 new NE-style unfiltered IPA's under their Make Beer Great Again series. Bad Hombre was the first and was pretty good. The second was Nasty Woman IPA which I thought was an awesome hazy juicy beer.

I just had the aforementioned Hop Brothel that I picked up in a growler from my local liquor store. It is a great representation of the NE style IPA that you are looking for. I have to get down to their taproom.

Agreed. Nasty Woman would likely surprise many in a blind test. It immediately reminded me of Bissell Brothers.

No shit?! I used to be able to walk to independent when I lived in Bel Air and I found most of their beers average at best. Nice to know they're coming along.

Yeah a lot of their stuff still is but their newer stuff is pretty good. Their coffee stout is pretty good and so is their Barleywine. The best thing they have going though is this new ipa series they are doing which the first 2 have been NE-style ipa's and the next to be released will be a triple IPA which, if the trend continues, will be great.

There is also a brewery in Fawn Grove, PA (just above the MD line north of Baltimore) called South County that is doing some NE style pale ales/IPAs. They have a NE style DIPA called Liminal Moment which is phenomenal. And a pale ale called Cosmic Nod. I know they distro in PA, not sure if they make it down to MD.

This is a recent draft only pale ale they did called Sound Machine.

Does South County do can, bottles, crowlers, or growlers?

They distro cans to the local area (Liminal Moment, Cosmic Nod, Day Rider). I think they've done an occasional limited release bottle. You can fill growlers at the brewery.

RAR is well represented already on this thread but I will plug them, as well. And with the online purchasing they do now, you are guaranteed beer without having to wait in line and get there at 3 AM.

Thanks, all! I finally got out to Aslin today---WOW. Definitely scratches the NE-style itch. I might even go so far as to say the best Mid-Atlantic beer I have tried. I wouldn't rank it above TreeHouse but I would say I prefer it to the three Alchemist brews I've had. This is Master of Oranges. (I also tried and really liked Mind the Hop.)

Got to try their Haze Craze yesterday. It's the best beer they've ever brewed, and my new pick for best beer brewed in MD. NE style all the way. I had to stop myself from dumping it down my gullet all at once.

I've had Heady and Focal (which I love both), but I completely agree that many Aslin beers could be rated better than those 2, and also, I feel it's hands down the best IPA maker in the MD/DE/NOVA area. Haven't had Veil yet.

From everything I've been reading on this post, it sounds like NE IPAs are blowing up in the area finally from many small brewers. We'll see who can match up to Aslin's quality.

Diamond Back Green Machine with Vic Secret was really tasty and hazy. I'm excited to get Hop Broth on Friday.

Kinda off topic but what did Aslin do to become so restrictive? Used to be dog friendly, not anymore and now their taproom and tasting room is closed and you can't consume any alcohol on the premises?
