From the Beer Temple podcast, it sounds like Marz is opening a second location in a more northern part of the city.

I generally really like their hazy beers and would like to make it to the taproom. I haven't made it down to Bridgeport yet, so hopefully this one will be a little easier for me to get to. Either way, I noticed there wasn't a 2019 thread for them yet and found it interesting they are opening a 2nd on-site location.

Any indication or potential locations for the northern taproom?

My issue is less with their location and more with their prices...Went there once and don't feel compelled to return.

I don't think he (Ed the owner) said. It sounds very preliminary, as in it likely won't fully open until 2020.

I like Marz, but im done paying $15 for a 4 pack of 12 oz cans. I wonder who opens first, Pipeworks taproom or Marz

Logan Square is going to be this insane walkable mecca of breweries.

I used to live at Armitage and Western about 8 years ago and I remember walking to Revolution to get a growler of Anti Hero to bring to a party. My how things have changed!

So I was leaving Binny's when I noticed the label on Marz Synthesizing Showroom. West Coast-style IPA. Well I enjoy West Coast IPAs but I abhor Marz pricing. $14 for a 4pk of 12 oz 7.0% IPAs is a bit egregious imo. Does anyone else do this? But hey, it's Marz! At least they are consistently overpriced.

A bit torn I went ahead and irrationally purchased the 4pk as my desire to support local WCIPAs won out. While not exceptional, it's pretty good imo. Certainly satisfies my WCIPA itch. Long story short, if you enjoy WCIPAs maybe pick it up? A single if possible.

I saw the label on insta and think its fantastic. But yeah, at that price plus the fact that I've never been overly impressed with Marz in general, I'll hold off for draft.

Had a pour at their brewery yesterday, was an OK WCIPA. I agree with their pricing as well, will occasionally pick up a single, but beyond pre/post White Sox game visits I don't get their much. Cool pinball/video game room for those who can make it on site.

I'll grab Stone (Best by or standard IPA), Sierra Nevada Hop Bullet, or Lagunitas Hop Stoopid when I can't find a good local WCIPA.

They make some very good beers but my issue with them is there are no dates on their cans and their prices. My Binny's always has a nice selection from them but I never know how old anything is. And the fact that they charge just as much or more for their 12oz 4 packs than most 4 packs of 16oz makes is pretty damn hard to buy much of their stuff.

They're selling a 4 pack of their Oktoberfest beer for $13.99. Insane.

also their $9.99 price for a 16.9 oz bottle of a milkshake ipa is the dumbest pricing i can remember.

Damn! $37.83 for a tallboy 4-pack of IPA, no wonder they sell them as singles.

1- Is it just me or has Marz hype completely fallen off?
2- Their model must be working because they aren't adjusting their pricing
3- Relating to question one, when someone mentions or you have a hankering for a Marz beer, what draws you to it or rather what is their niche (For example if I want a good BA stout I know to go to GI, or a good IPA I can count on Half Acre, or good NEIPA Corridor, etc)?

I want to try their beers, I really do. However, that pricing for a 4-pack of 12oz beers is insane in this market. As always, if it is selling, good for them.

I can only speak to this one...I've stopped buying their beer almost completely, even as a single can at B&C. I find their IPA's all taste the same and aren't elite enough to warrant the price. The stouts are usually pastry'd into oblivion, and the sours have never done it for me.
