Having an uptown XPA now... Over carbonated. Batch 211.

Even with carbonation issue, it's a solid 4/5

So it looks like Marz is going to be expanding production.

I can only imagine this will be all around a huge positive for Marz.

My understanding is they're building a brewpub on Iron Street south of 35th, next to the South Fork of the river. Guessing that's where that pic is taken? Can't be sure but the background doesn't look like the current brewery's surroundings at 33rd and Halsted.

There's a Nasal Cavity stout now? I tried the Nasal golden ale and really wanted it to make my nose bleed. Super weak. How's the stout?

Agreed on pricing. I've never tried their stuff based on this fact alone, which is really too bad.

Does anyone know of any stores in Lincoln Park or Wicker Park that may have Marz beers to go?

I'm reviving this thread from the dead since it appears that Marz has really focused and dialed in their NE/DDH/cloudy style IPA offerings. It warrants keeping this thread around for all the new stuff that they are coming out with.

Latest release appears to be Hollihaze. I haven't had it yet, but their previous two releases have been solid in my opinion (Overhaze and Crushed Velvet). They've earned my cash and I'll be picked up a 4-pack of Hollihaze for the weekend.

Ended up getting a 4pack of Holihaze at Binny's ($14/4pack of 12oz cans) and enjoyed it a good bit. Nice aroma with a good amount of citrus and tropical flavor. Medium body feel, mildly dry finish. Just an overall solid beer.

I still prefer Crushed Velvet, but Holihaze is every bit as good as Overhaze to me. Wouldn't hesitate to pick up another 4-pack if I didn't have so much other beer in the fridge.

Loved the Velvet and the Holihaze. I thought Holihaze was as good as Trillium's juiced offerings! (Then again, it's been a few months since I've had any of those.)

My understanding is that the beers I get here in NJ are from either a different production facility or are contract brewed by someone. Not produced at the facility in Chicago. Does anyone know the details behind this?

For a while Marz was canning out of Against the Grain in Kentucky - so y'all would get the 16 oz cans from that facility, while we in Chicago only got their 500 ml bottles. BUT they recently got their facility here in Chicago up and running so they're canning 12 oz cans now. If you're getting 12 oz cans and/or 500 ml bottles those are all from Chicago.

Yeah, looks like it. They ran into permitting issues a few weeks ago. An instagram yesterday said they had a cooler installed with some tasty brews inside. I reckon January will be the month. Got an excuse to go back to the old neighborhood then.

Safe to assume this will be packaged in an 9 oz 3 pack of cans?

That’s way too traditional. This is coming in those bladder bags or a box of wine type of package.

For $12.99. It’s cool though. It’s hazy, so no one gives a shit.

Just as long as they don't start putting peppers in their IPAs ...
