So so true...except for the part about NOT being better than Heady or Double Sunshine. Hah
Seriously, this beer is fantastic and I cannot sing it's praises enough to anyone that will listen

Def reccomend grabbing pizza next door at Folionos to anyone going to grab mastermind. The pizza is incredible and its BYOB so you can sit and drink great Fiddlehead beer at the retail prices. Mastermind is really tasty, but its nowhere near Heady, DS, HF, etc. Not enough to balance it out.

I thought that Focal Banger was a session IPA?

Picked up a 4 pack earlier.

I think they should offer it in 16oz cans instead. Much better value for the price.

About to open a can here. Will chime in with my thoughts.

FB is 7% ABV, kind of straddling the line between single and double IPA; very good too, maybe better than Heady.

Just had a Mastermind (make that 2:slight_smile:). Great beer in the VT DIPA style. The only defect is a little hot alcohol in the finish.

Just got this beer from a VT trade partner of mine. Seriously, it's amazing. Right up there with Heady and DS for me. I don't think you guys can make a bad IPA up there.

I did not detect alcohol heat in the finish. Either way, I am encouraged by Mastermind.

It's amazing to see more Vermont breweries embracing this style of IPA/DIPA. It's becoming a hallmark of the Vermont brewing scene!

Last time I bought it was $60 per case (12 ounce cans). You could buy 2 cases. You can always find people in line that buy an extra cases for you.

At the brewery Mastermind is $10 per four pack of 12oz cans. Second Fiddle was $13 for four 16oz cans. Same cost per ounce either way. Both a good deal.

$11.99 at City Market in Burlington.

I have not had Second Fiddle yet. I missed the release of that.

Any place closer to Rutland usually have it?

Farrell is distributing it, but I don't think they got that large of a batch. There's a chance it might make it to Rutland (Farrell's southern VT distribution office is there), but I wouldn't count on it.

I just discovered that a friend from work is spending Friday night around Lyndonville then Sat morning take a drive along 100 and stay Sat. night in Warren. His route on Sat. is 91 to 15 and pick up 100 in Morristown. Any ideas for a retail location along that route for Mastermind?

Call Craft Beer Cellar in Waterbury. That's the largest retail store along that route. There's some small shops, but I'd wager that CBC has the best chance of getting some Mastermind (and probably more quantity than smaller shops). I saw that a few Burlington region shops got their Mastermind in stores a few days ago.

    Thanks for the info @jamesewelch.

I'll be in VT on Friday and Saturday from Michigan and would love to get my hands on a 4-pack. I've posted an ISO for an in-person trade, but would like to try my luck here. I'll be at Hill Farmstead Friday afternoon and Waterbury Friday night. I'll be at the Waitsfield Farmer's Market on Saturday morning and back up to HF that afternoon. If you are available and interested in some Michigan brews, send me a message!

FYI, My buddy just left the brewery and was told that this will be their last run of Mastermind, ever. It's just too difficult to get the necessary hops. If you're a fan, best get some while you can.

Crap. I'll be in VT for Columbus Day weekend as always, but not before. Was hoping some might be available then. Is distro of cans limited to the Burlington area?
