I live in WI and most places range from $8 to $12 for growler refills.

are you taking into account the amount you will be blinking? Also, the variable of poor movie goer ethics (talking, cellphones not turned off) needs to be accounted for.

This is too mathematically driven. There some variables involved with this kind of scientific study:
Freshness (especially on an IPA)- I typically steer clear of Hop Stoopid because of the freshness. If the beer tastes like crap, what's the point?
Bombers- You have to drink those in 1 sitting.
Aging- Beers like Speedway Stout could have a lot more value because they are very cellarable (made up word). Some people like myself find huge value in this!

The local supermarket near me sells singles for $3.50 and I think that's high. But the bombers are $8 and 2 oz less than 2-12 oz bottles which would be $7. This is all so confusing!

I don't know if it's an error but I was looking at BeerMenu for prices at a local brewpub and I saw 64 oz growlers for $57!! Could this be?
And to think that I was going for a growler that I thought was $10 and turned out to be $13 and I passed.

I like to add a shot of cheap vodka to my beers to up the AU

EDIT: Oh and a local shop by me was selling cases of Great Lakes Wright Pils for $12.99. Not sure why it was so cheap but I'll take it!

If we're talking about cost wouldn't that be common "cents?"

This is interesting but it goes against all the reasons that I drink beer. I'm not going to count the cost per ounce or cost per % of alcohol, just ain't gonna happen.
I do wish we had a Costco here, those are some great prices! I'm not against saving some money, I'm just not adding that much thought to a relaxing hobby.

I really only do this while at Costco. This is not to decide if I want to buy one bottle of a one off RIS over a six pack of Guinness.

What in the hell is common sense? If everyone was so damned smart, we'd have nothing to bitch about. I always thought you were joking about 35%, serious 60%, and 5% undecided.

In other words, when you're at Costco you make a beer purchase decision based on which craft beer gets you drunk for the least amount of money.

    Am I missing something here?

I rarely buy a case of anything. Too many great things coming out regularly.

The ABV/cost thing is irrelevant to me. Wish it was all 4%.

If cost of beer, perhaps one of the cheapest "luxury items" around, is that much of a deal breaker--one should consider a new hobby or change to grain alcohol.

I've seen some pretty high-test beers that are fairly inexpensive. Thus, they would rate highly on your score.
However, those beers are pretty bad tasting, so IMO they would rate very low.
I'd rather get a better beer at low ABV than a bad one with high, for the same money.
