I consider it a Coolship. Wasn't it made using their Coolship process even if it doesn't state "Coolship" on the label?

Same with Goolship, Old HLT, etc. Maybe I will correct myself. Limited, brewery only released, American Wild tasting. Jeez...consider yourself un-invited.

Haha sorry buddy, just trying to educate you. Mattina was not made in the coolship. Only coolships made are Resurgam, Cerise, Balaton and Red. Shit, I'm not even positive Ghoulship is considered a coolship even though the name suggests it is

Saw the new batch of Mattina in barrels on a tour about a week and a half ago. Had a pour of a carbed bottle of the original at GABF a few years back too, really good stuff.

I think you are half right. They pitched a regular house yeast after the beer cooled overnight in the coolship so it wasn't 100% spontaneous like the other Coolship beers.

If it's any consolation the new batch of Red is a raspberry bomb. Not as big as Mattina. Much better than the first batch which I didn't like very much.

No, I am sure that is correct. Some of their coolship releases age for up to 4 years in barrel.

This batch of Red was outstanding.

The FV13 was in the foudre for 4 years - a blend of many batches - but don't recall any coolships aged that long...
