Maui Coconut Porter?

    I'm Australian and someone's given me a case of Coconut Porter which is in the mail now and should arrive on Monday.

    Am I in for a treat? When I think of craft beer, Hawaii's not the first place I think of. And when I think of Hawaii, Porter is definitely not the style of beer I think of.

    It's a fantastic beer, in fact, the Imperial version is the top rated beer from Hawaii. As someone from California who's had the regular version, I'm creaming my BVDs that imma try the imperial version soon. You're in for a treat.

    IMO, it was good but it had a mineral taste that wasn't pleasant. I'll definitely try again.

    During my stay in Maui, I had two growlers of the Imperial Coconut Porter. I do agree, it was very good. Lots of coconut and then the punch to back it up. Poured like used motor oil (dark dark dark).

    Very good by all counts.

    imperial is amazing. hope they bottle soon

    regular coconut porter is great. it's even more coconutty than it used to be, a few years ago.

    should have had your friend send some Big Swell too

    Had Imp Coco Port 2 months back at the new brewery/tasting room. Very good. I'll have to pick up a sixer or Coco Porter and Big Swell in Hilo this weekend. Maybe some Big Island bottles.

    That never tastes as good in California as it does on the islands.
