Hyperbole, actually. Dinner wouldn't be a cheap beer if it his distro. Either way, totally agree with you on two levels: Getting hosed with MBC prices and opting for a store purchase than getting in a 4:30 am line. That latter is literally the last thing I'd ever want to do. (Edit: And I have a seven-month-old. I am up in between 5-5:30 every day)

So if your kid has you awake anyway, you may as well be standing in line for beer right? In all seriousness waiting even 2-3 hours after driving several doesn't make sense to me personally. I like my Saturdays just fine. If other people want to come to the area to drop the money though, go for it.

This is about the exact reason why I've divorced MBC and married Trillium. Better beers, zero hassle. Sure prices could always be better but I've never hesitated to open the wallet once w/ those guys on Congress St.

Now that Maine has Epiphany (if you don't know about it you need to) and Swish I'm curious if the Dinner hype will die down.

For sure. We did the Alchemist release about a year ago and it was fun, but a different experience. We had coffee, waited in line, had samples then did lunch and some adventuring around Vermont. I guess we could do the same in Freeport/Portland, but not at 4:30am, and definitely not when I can hit up Industrial Ave.

Dinner is my favorite beer, period. Still wouldn't stand in line at 4:30 a.m. for it, though. If that's your thing, more power to you!

I missed out on Epiphany, but had Swish a couple weeks ago when I was in Portland for work. They were sold out of Substance when I went so I only had a pint. I really enjoyed that one.

As much as I like Dinner I don't see myself standing in line again for over 3 hours to get it again. Especially given that I got to Bissell Bros. at 12:10 on Saturday and had Swish, Substance and Foundation Epiphany and was headed home by 12:30.

If people are lining up at 4am why didn't they call this beer, "Breakfast"?

I'll be here all week - don't forget to tip your waitress!!!
