Agreed. We need Greenbush, Shorts and Dark Horse's list for the real heat.

Anybody know the story with the 15th Anniversary beer? Is it the same recipe brewed by different breweries, or is everybody just brewing their own interpretation of one particular style?

If Greenbush comes to this, and the lists above are correct, I think they'll turn some heads.

Exactly my question. I was really confused when I saw the 15th Anniv for hopcat. I bet it is the same recipe brewed by each brewery.

I believe that you are correct, sir, with your assumption. I forget where I read about this (probably on this site) but it is supposed to be the same ingredients from each participating brewery. (Or maybe that was the Beer City recipe by everyone in GR?)

    The Collaborative Brew

The 15th Anniversary Ale is a strong Pale Ale – more like a strong IPA or a Double IPA, coming in with an 8% ABV with 80 IBUs. These brews will be available at participating member breweries, as well as at the Summer Beer Festival.

“When you buy Michigan beer you are supporting local businesses and you are helping to provide local jobs,” says Eric Briggeman, Guild President. “And, with this 15th Anniversary Brew, we are also helping Michigan’s agriculture industry because we are asking brewers to use wheat that is grown and malted in Michigan, as well as Michigan-grown hops.”

The only "special" beers they had last year were KBS and Cashew Mountain. This year is KBS and Frangelic, their list seems on par with what they have done in the past. I am not expecting too much.

Has anybody had anything from B.O.B.S. Brewery? I've never even heard of them. Definitely interested in trying their Peanut Butter Stout.

The B.O.B. has been around for a while, as long as I can remember. They are usually at the MBG Festivals, at least summer and winter. They are in downtown GR near hopcat. Their stuff is OK, generally nothing special.
