I am in MD, friend in PA - he sends me lots of stuff I cant get in MD. Is there anything that I get in MD that he cant get in PA? Looking for something to send that he cant get locally.
I dont think we have Maui here in PA yet, and I've gotten it in MD. There are also certain Heavy Seas bombers that are only distributed in MD.
I've not seen bottles yet, but we're getting regular year-round stuff like Honkers, 312, and IPA on draft now.
I was wondering about that. I wasn't sure if it was just with beer week coming up, or if GI had the made decision to enter the Pa. market.
When I visited Annapolis from living in PA I can say that I appreciated the Heavy Seas lineup as it was pretty ubiquitous everywhere I went near Annapolis and pretty tasty
I'm fairly sure most of the Heavy Seas line-up makes it up to Pa. Maybe some of the more unusual, barrel aged stuff doesn't, but most of that stuff isn't bottled anyway.
I've picked up Matilda and some the the basic bottles passing through Cockeysville at Shawans off of 83 and then those and some of the other Belgians over at Stateline in Elkton...
I happen to live in PA and work in MD. Grab your friend a bottle of Barrel Aged Gonzo from Flying Dog. I know that hasn't made it to PA yet. I found my bottle at A.K.A. Frisco’s in Frederick, MD - right down the road from the Flying Dog Brewery.
New Belgium and Laughing Dog in addition to the others mentioned. We have that in the Lehigh Valley. I passed on the $10 small bottle, though. Is it worth it?
My mistake – but still a very nice offering from a local MD brewery. Money is no object if you enjoy a mild whiskey note and rich dark semi-sweet dark chocolate with a hint of bittering hops all coupled with caramelized brown sugar and a rich full mouth-feel. Plus it's 9.2% ABV and aged in whiskey barrels from Stranahan’s in Colorado (who makes amazing whiskey by the way).
Barrel Aged Gonzo has been in the Philly market for at least two months. Some places are out, but I believe I saw a bottle the other day.
The difference is that in PA there is so much variety that I never really noticed it too much- but in Annapolis it was the only craft beer available at a lot of places
