Measured Bitterness and Perceived Bitterness

    I've seen this topic brought up at various times in other threads and figured it deserved its own. It seemed appropriate to post in the NE forums as the NE style IPA is, at first glance, an oxymoron of IBU and perceived bitterness. I've linked to what I found to be an excellent article that delves deeper into the chemistry and biology of the IBU-bitterness disconnect that many here have recognized. Enjoy!

    From my chats with several brewers the IBU scale can't accurately represent NE IPAs - interesting read, thanks for sharing!
