Media Embedding Has Been Disabled

All of my pics are individually listed as 'Hidden' and not viewable by the public. However, I found that I never 'verified' my email address with Imgur so I went thru that process. I still get the 404 screen for each link that you have in your post. I also noted that my personal Imgur settings now say that my email has been verified and that my pics could now be made public. I can't find a setting to change them en masse, thus I'll leave it alone.

But I see a possible explanation by @jaycase above, so I'm going to leave it at that.

 

Yes, @Jaycase is correct. My examples are not real image links. Replace "gobbledegook" with the actual image name.

Like this:

but you put it in the Image icon url box, not as a direct link from the message text box, like this:



If you want a click-on link, you use the "Image Link" from imgur, like this:

https://imgur.com/p6aTFK2

BTW, if you right-click on that first link above, and select "save linked content as" you can save the image to your computer and forever admire my photographic skills!

 

Thank you. Those photos were always the slowest to load and often didn't look right. I'm happy with the change.

 

Doesn’t look like Instagram works anymore. Is there some trick? I did a test and it failed.

I hope it’s not the case, but I’ll be really irritated if BA eliminated such a common platform. Might be the end of my WBAYDN participation.

 

I only use mobile to post on BA.
Imgur, Instagram and other social stuff wasn't working. At least not on my phone.
Tried Postimage and that seemed to work.
Image website. Dont need account. Take pic, scroll down to Hotlink for forums and clicked copy. Posted right in meassage box for forum not the add link tab.

This is the best and easiest method for posting pics from my phone I’ve found as well.

 

Except, when i go to IMGUR, there's no "Direct Link" option, just "Browse or drag images here".

 

As noted previously... my example was for using a PC (or phone, I suppose) browser and the imgur web site. I don't use their phone app.

EDIT: OK, I just installed and tried the google imgur app on my phone.

If I tap a picture, it displays the pic (nearly) full screen. If I tap the "share" button, (or press and hold the picture) I get several choices, among them is "copy URL". If I select that, what is copied is what I would want to paste into the "Image" button here on a BA reply.

Maybe the iPhone app works differently, IDK.

One other point on imgur, I go to my images on the site; not posts. IDK if that makes any difference.

 

Thanks. I get < i.imgur.com/xxx.jpg > links doing it the way I've been doing on my phone, so I can just continue with no issue. Much ado about nothing.

 

I agree that it is possible. AFAIK when you long click on the uploaded image or do Copy URL on imgur on Mobile (I use android, though, so YMMV) it is the direct link. I also am pretty sure that to be foolproof you just need to double-check that there is an "i." before "imgur" in the URL. If there isn't, you can just type it in and it makes it the direct link.

 

Its nice to see the wbaydn pictures come up instantly, even though i have never posted a picture

 

I still like what I use. I keep an open tab and the site remembers which code that I want to copy. Then I just long finger it in a post.

Laptop. Tried three different browsers: Edge, Chrome, and Opera.

 

I get that sometimes with peeps' pics and have never figured out why.
