We're making it work, though Tree House made it a hell of a lot easier for us by selling us their excess Citra! And if you liked the dart board, I have good news for you as of today.

How did I miss the dart board when I was there?

    Sincerely,

    Guy next to the growlers.

It's the smaller room to the right, just as you enter the building. It was closed off for the first few months of business, but recently opened up. We hope to add a few other entertainments in there as well.

Wow. Probably the last place I'd expect to find extra citra.

Amazing how much this place flies under the radar, a hazy, juicy, tropical, citrus IPAhhh I mean IPL like Mesmerist without an hour+ in line and $8 or whatever the 32oz growler was

I thought the last one they did the "Futurist" was amazing. I fill up from them a couple times a month on the way home from work. Great local Brewer that keeps improving. Glad they haven't been fully discovered yet.

made my first, albeit brief, visit to Hudson Mass & Medusa brewing today

it's about 10 minutes from the 290/495 interchange.

They had Laser Cat DIPA on draft. bought a small growler, haven't cracked it yet.

got a flight of a saison, belgian pale, APA with mass-grown hops, and an IPA. IPA was nice. Saison & Belgian Pale were very much to my tastes (less tart, more sweet on the saison and less spice more hops on the belgian pale). I liked them. The APA was good, nothing special. The IPA was very nice.

Tap room was very welcoming & nicely done. It was 3:30 on a Thursday, so frankly I was glad the door was unlocked! Of the 12+ brews on tap, probably 4(?) were hop forward. As a hop head trying to "branch out" in the world, I liked this.

I'm not local to Hudson, but it's definitely a place I plan on checking out. There was an amazing rich bbq smell coming from the brick oven pizza place up the street, and that alone will get me there.

I'm a big fan, especially If I'm all "hopped out" as they typically have lots of styles. The only thing I don't like is the way they do flights. $12-15 (depending on beers) for a flight seems a bit high for me, but then again I usually just stick to full pours.

Virtually all of our 5oz sampler pours are $2 or $3 a la carte, so you should be looking at a range of $8-$12 for a flight of four. Our pricing is sales tax inclusive. Certainly pricier by volume, and that's mainly to help offset the diversion of labor involved in filling samplers, especially when it's busy.

Not sure the changes have been documented everywhere yet, but the taproom is now open 7 days a week: 3pm-10:30pm M-Thu, noon-10:30pm Fri-Sun.

My memory has failed me, I could have sworn there was a few $4 samples. Thanks for the clarification, then again a few beers has never helped my memory. Friendly territory making a return soon?

I think there might have been one or two beers that lurched into the $4/sample, $8/13oz price point, likely Phaser Marmot and Friendly Territory. Phaser because the abnormally high hopping rates gives us a terrible final yield on the batch, and Friendly Territory because the ingredient bill is virtually twice that of a non-totally-local beer and has some yield issues as well.

I think we may do one more batch of Friendly Territory in the Fall, and we're toying with the idea of changing the hop bill once the new hop crops become available. Four Star Farms is great to work with. Should be taking in some of their wet hops in a few weeks as well!

Stopped in yesterday afternoon and really like this place. Tried a few beers--all good--and loved the range on offer. Was disappointed that they were out of 64 oz growlers - the awful MA fill law combined with a bad no-swap brewery policy had me leaving unhappy and with only half the beer I came for.

Didn't realize this thread has been ongoing for a while. Medusa seems to be one of those breweries that's only getting better as time goes on. The Confector in particular is a great brew. When's that coming back? Always one I love around the fall and into the holidays

Unfortunately, our growler glass order has been held up for quite a while... arriving in two days, thankfully, but still weeks off schedule. MA laws notwithstanding, not entirely sure what you meant by no-swap?

We don't really follow any kind of particular schedule with specific beers, apart from following a loose rotation. We try to keep a porter/stout-type beer on all at all times, and generally more of them during the cooler weather when they seem to sell a bit better. We just finished this batch off in the taproom so I don't expect it back in the near future; Stout Lad has just been tapped, and we're brewing our first milk stout tomorrow.

Re:the no-swap. Can I give you my 32oz back glass and get a 64 oz or vice versa?

This will be allowed by Friday of this week, actually. We've reached a point where our costs for the different sizes are close to equal, so new glass will cost the same and they will be swappable for a different size as long as they are acceptably clean.

Thanks! We were hoping to do that this year, but it sort of fell off the schedule at some point. Hoping to do a proper approach to it next year with a real event attached to it.

Don't sleep on the lagers here, by the way. They did just win a big award for one, and all of them have been pretty spot on.

Actually, sleep on them all you want. That last batch of Duchuvni went way to quick.

I also like that they're starting to get a variety of food trucks parked outside on a regular basis. Get to try out Shuck Food Truck there tomorrow evening with some Freudian Sip and Magnum Opus for my birthday.
