So I am in Melbourne for the next few days and am wondering if it is as much of a beer desert as it seems? The couple breweries around these parts arent well reviewed and the liquor store I swung by didnt have a crazy selection.

Anything I should be looking for here or in the immediate area? Any FL beers of quality that are bottled other than CCB?

Interested in finding something close-ish (within an hour of Melbourne). I fear Peg's/CCB/FB and their 2.5 hour drives may be too much to ask of my wife. Unless they tap Rare DOS of course. ;-)

Bars, breweries, and store recommendations would be much appreciated!

    Cheers!

Cocoa beach brewing company has the coolest little tasting room right on A1A. Give them a visit, I enjoy their beer, especially their oatmeal stout. Don't let reviews fool you.

You might consider stopping in Jacksonville to stock up on the way. Three breweries, two excellent bottle shops, and a number of beer bars within a mile of I-95 on ether side of the river.
