Well, the beer is already here. It's just another brewpub, apparently, not a production brewery.

Cans haven't made it down to Oregon but we have been getting kegs of it. I know melvin cans are around Washington, but hopefully with a melvin brewpub we will see more melvin in Oregon.

I had it at 2x4 day and thought it I liked it better than 2x4. Of course after a couple of 2x4's and Shaolin's its hard to say if I even knew what I was doing at that point.

We just got cans in Boise about 10 days ago. I am guessing they are coming very soon to Oregon.

That has been the consensus here as well, that Shaolin > 2X4, though as you mentioned that margin of difference may shrink after a few of either one ha.

In the interest of fairness, I had a Melvin brew I liked a fair bit last night, Hop Shocker. Split a mini-growler with a friend (IIRC, $8 at Safeway), pretty nice brew, with a lot of Fruity Pebbles taste going on. It was no *, but I liked it anyway.

It's on Meridian St. in Bellingham, just up the street from Menaces new place (which should be open by the end of the month). They're working on the building (they had part of a wall knocked out when I went by last week), and they seem to think they'll be open by the end of the year, but that seems optimistic to me. I hope everybody goes there all the time, that way I'll have some elbow room at the local breweries.

Was just scanning the thread again, and this caught my eye. At least with Melvin, when they make a "Bellingham" beer, we're likely to actually see it in Bellingham.:stuck_out_tongue::stuck_out_tongue::stuck_out_tongue::stuck_out_tongue::stuck_out_tongue:

I hear they're going to send all their "Bellingham Only" beers to the Fremont UBG.

    Dude, it's funny.

Plus, if you hadn't noticed, I'm a bit like a Labrador Retriever with a new tennis ball. Good luck getting me to drop it.

Much like the Ski-to-Sea beer from a couple years ago that sat on shelves until September.

Is Melvin beer already readily available in Bellingham? Asking for a friend. Specifically a friend that will be driving back through bellingham tomorrow on their way back to Spokane from Vancouver. Whom I would have pick me up some 2x4 cans.

And some hands may get painfully bitten in the process...But it's all understandable because you're ultimately a lovable, if often very grouchy and slobbering, old pooch.

If you really want a taste of the "Bellingham Beer Week" beer, I suppose shipment of a crowler to parts North could be arranged. But only if it meant detente, a lasting wagging tail...

Have them try the Food Co-op, or Elizabeth Station, where I saw Melvin cans in abundance when I was there last month. I'd suspect that they're at a number of other places within the city, too. (It is definitely true here in Seattle, FWIW.)

If you make it as far South as Lynnwood the Total Wine at Alderwood has lots of Melvin including 2x4

The 7-11 on 50th between Wallingford and Green Lake has Melvin 6 packs. Crazy.
