Members by State

    It would be nice to search/view members by state. Also, it would be nice if the "Members Online Now" section could be filtered by State, kinda like it was on the old site. I used that a lot to find in person trading partners around town.

    You couldn't search by state before. We did away with it due to spam, so we won't be adding that back. And we can't filter by state/country as the forum doesn't support fixed state/country fields at this time, nor does it support the ability to sort "Members Online Now" either.

    I wish you could replace the word 'member' under the avatar with the state. I find that much more relevant.

    This has been brought up numerous time already. As the location field is now a free-for-all, displaying it is absolutely useless as there's no standard data fields and users can put whatever they want in it.

    Does the software allow it to be changed from a free form field, to a drop down menu? If anyone doesn't want to put their state or country, N/A could be the default. (I'm assuming that is not possible, and is why it has not been done)

    It doesn't. I've suggested the feature, but there's no guarantee of inclusion. And if it's not included an add-on would need to be coded, which would require hiring someone who's familiar with system; an option we'd look into.

    ah ok. well good to know, appreciate the details. Sounds like perhaps someday, or perhaps not at all. I'm already forgeting a bit how the old site worked, and the new one has far more Pro's then Con's for me either way. Cheers
