It has been very common to see someone adding beers they never heard of or never tasted full of errors. Wrong name, style, etc. Sometimes I add a new place or beer and then someone just go into their website and add all the beers they see (from a brewery in a far a way country). But given they never tasted them or even heard of them, its full of mistakes. Why do they do that? just for getting karma points? Should BA prevent that?

I see your point but BA should not prevent anything.

It's better to have an open community where it regulates itself, in a way.

If you see something wrong, just post an update and fix it. No big deal.

This is not a competition. It's the best beer community out there
