Heading back to your fair city in a couple of months and am curious if there are any events for Memorial Day weekend?

*I may also be heading to Portland for the day.

Bend is also in Central Oregon.

As for Seattle, I don't think there any big events going on at that time. No shortage of beer for you though.

Yeah, he'll miss out on Seattle Beer Week earlier in the month, and the WA Brewer's Festival is a couple weeks later.

Which is why I go to Bend for Memorial Day.

I'll need to get over there someday. I need to attend the Little Woody one of these years.

Are there any breweries just outside of Seattle worth traveling to? We plan on hitting Fremont and Elysian as a start.

You can get to a heck of a lot of breweries without ever leaving Seattle. Ballard alone (home of Reuben's Brews) has about 10 (Populuxe, Peddlers, Stoup, Hale's, NW Peaks, Hilliards, Urban Family Public House, etc), and is less than 10 minutes from Fremont.

Not sure what you like, breweries "just outside" of Seattle but still close and worth going to (IMHO) are Black Raven (see post above), Foggy Noggin (Bothell), Airways (Kent), Big Al's (White Center), Machine House (Seattle-SODO), and Two Beers (also SODO).

Oh, and if you go to Portland be sure to check out Laurelwood.

Just exploring around will seem like a beer fest. You will be able to walk into any bar or mini mart and find craft beer. We have over 200 breweries in the state, you won't be able to try 'em all. Just roll in with an open mind and willing palate, and you'll be OK.
