Anyone know of a beer events/tappings Memorial Day weekend in DC? I will be in town for a conference with a few friends. Churchkey events??
Generally, Memorial Day is pretty quiet in DC, aside from Rolling Thunder, most people head out of town for the long weekend. That being said, some of the better places should be less crowded. That being said you can see some event listings here. http://www.dcbeer.com/
The only thing I can think of that's happening eventwise at Churchkey during Memorial Day Weekend is Ales from the Dark Side: Vol. 3 and it's on Memorial Day itself.
Agree with 'quiet' poster above. Run the streets of Chinatown, Old Town, Dupont Circle/Bier Baron (need cab for BB), and Churchkey. The gays, college, and trendy will all be at the shores (Del, Eastern, and Va Beach). Rolling Thunder and the Vets families will be at the nearest Hooters/Sports Bar near their hotel. Crystal City will be a mob scene.
i think last memorial day a few friends and i hit up Standard for lunch then walked to CK and had the place to ourselves. either memorial day or labor day. either way it'll be the same likely and might just do that again.
