The Winery in Germantown just opened a 24 tap growler station. Just figured I'd let everyone know in the Memphis area if you live out east and don't want to go all the way into midtown for a good growler. They have tons of local stuff, as well as a bunch of regional and a few national craft. Some low grav, some high. Plus I'm pretty good friends with their beer manager, he said if you want something special just ask them for it and they will try to get it. They had a few taps to "play" with, so I think they're open to suggestion. And they plan on expanding their bottle selection.
That's good news. Apparently Joe's Wines in midtown is opening one also and the under new management Raffe's at Poplar/Highland is gong to have a 16 tap station in the next few months (with both full and half growlers).
Yeah I always like to hear about more growler stations. I just live further out east, so it's more of a matter of convenience for me. But I love to go into town every now and then for a different selection.
Poplar Wine and Spirits doesn't have many growler taps but they do keep them rotating fairly frequently.
That's awesome. I was just at Madison's on Wednesday on vacation. It's really awesome that laws allow stores to do that because it doesn't happen in Missouri.
The Winery of Germantown is great. For those out east, Poplar Wine and Spirits in Collierville (near Huey's) has a growler station. There is also one going in at a new liquor store that will be in the Shoppes of Forest Hill. It'll be near the Target. I also heard there might be some more going up that way. It's great to see all the craft beer growth that way.
I've been meaning to check out the Winery's taps. Any idea what high gravity offerings they have? Joe's is promising some good high gravity offerings.
The beer manager at The Winery does a great job at keeping a great selection both on tap and the bottle selection.
I'd say about half of the 24 taps are high gravity. Right now I know there are a bunch of IPA and stout high gravs, with a few other odds and ends.
Also, the Liquor and Wine Depot in East Memphis (next to Gibson Donuts) is adding a growler station. The new Germantown one is called Corks, BTW.
I got some Stone Belgo Anise Russian Imperial Stout and Ovila Tripel at The Winery in Germantown. Haven't seen the Belgo in a long time, this site lists it as no longer brewed. Good stuff!
Hey all, I've been curating this list over the last few days and plan on keeping it as current as possible when things change. Enjoy! http://redd.it/2wkuja
