Head to Memphis at the beginning of August. I'd love any advice. Looks like their is some good stuff along Madison and around Overton Square. What else?
Check out Wiseacre and High Cotton Taprooms. For good grub/beer selection in the area, head to Young Avenue Deli. If downtown, South of Beale has fantastic food and some local brews on tap.
Buster's had the best store selection I saw when I visited a couple of weeks ago. Good liquor and wine selection, too.
Went to Wiseacre this past weekend. They had 10 taps in the taproom. I had 9 samplers from the 10 they had on tap. My only complaint was that nothing was really special or different about the beer I tried except for the Avast! Pirate Porter with allspice and orange. Everything else was just kind of average.
I would recommend hitting up The Growler on Cooper. It serves pints, flights, and growlers from local breweries. Joes Liquor and Busters Liquor have great selections of bottles. Local in Overton Square has good beer and food selections. I realize some people like Young Ave Deli, but I haven't had any rea good experiences there. It is very dirty. I would skip that in favour of other places. Downtown there is a fun bar called Bardog and a speakeasy called blind bear.
