Traveling to Memphis in a couple weeks and am looking for advice for breweries to go to. Staying at the Sheraton downtown and would like to get a couple of Tennessee's best beer. Also would like to go to a store to get a couple of bottles to take home with me if possible to get to a store while there. Any suggestions for must try beers or must visit breweries? Thanks.
Couple of suggestions: Area Krogers let you build your own six packs and have a good selection of local craft brews and On Tap Growlers in Collierville is a good place for growler fills.
Do grocery stores still only sell <6.2 ABV beers? Moved away from Memphis 18 months ago, but last I was there, that was the cap on what grocery stores could sell. Frankly, with that ABV cap, going to Kroger would be a waste of time for out-of-towners. The shops cravenbeer mentioned will have better options.
Hi guys, just wanted to pick up on this thread as my family and I are heading to Memphis from Australia for a few days as part of a wider holiday to the USA at the end of Feb and I'm keen to get some advice. While I hope to get a chance to have fresh Wiseacre brews, I'm more interested in good bottle shops close to Graceland that stock anything rare, interesting, fresh east-coast style IPAs or pretty much anything from the following brewer list: - Side Project - Treehouse - New Glarus - Toppling Goliath - Westbrook - Carton - Fonta Flora I've marked a few bottle shops from the BA directory for Memphis, however it's hard to tell whether these bottle shops are rated highly because of the beer quantity, quality, variety, service, or a combination of all of these things. Does anyone from this area have any ideas? I'm also planning on bringing a stash of top-class beers from Australia, a few of which are in this list: https://untappd.com/beer/top_rated?country_id=28 so that I can showcase some good Australian beer but also offer something in return for some good US beers Any help would be appreciated!
None of the breweries you listed will be available in Memphis. Maybe some locals might hook you up. There is certainly good beer to be had, though. Hopefully some Memphians will chime in and get you set up. If you make it over to Little Rock, holler.
