If it matters, there's a range of involvement when it comes to the contract breweries at Ipswich (posted from that same interview):
I also really enjoy the Ipswich IPA and the Harvest Ale, one of the best fall seasonals in my book. I'm glad that Mercury is able to provide a facility for CBC, Great Rhythm, Notch and others to brew some or all of their beer. But I wish it was easier to find Ipswich beers around--it seems like it's increasingly hard to find them in bottles or on-tap around Boston.
Slight change of topic: anyone know the status of the new brewery / brewpub? It seems like there has been so many snags and is taking forever to be completed.
Looks like the new brewery is online (complete with bottle dater!). They say late spring or early summer for the restaurant. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?....162404160464888.31112.153518228020148&type=1 http://myemail.constantcontact.com/...ings-.html?soid=1101418811941&aid=_45cKPwhH7A
I was a longtime fan of theirs, but had three mix packs last year that had distinctly off flavors in the ale & IPA. Sorry to say that I will avoid them in the future.
