A buddy of mine has, he said it was pretty good. Can't honestly say though. I'll get down there at some point.
Was in Hamilton on Friday but didn't want to get wrapped up in the hype so I went to Brux. Had a friend go the opening night. Service was slow to start but the beers were well crafted. The collab with Jen of DDC was noted as the best offering. I'll give them some time but it should be par and above. Definitely a weird beer philosophy. Space is top notch.
This place is great! I've been twice now, Real Real is the DDC collab and it's probably my favourite as well. Chanan is a dry hopped saison which is also delicious. Young Rival IPA is solid, lots of fruit hop aromas/flavours with little bitterness. Definitely go if you're in downtown Hamilton!
I was there last week from Montreal for the Breakfast? Fruit Loop Milkshake IPA (FT). They make pretty good beers, the food is nice, the place looks great and was packed. They have a small store at the front of the place. You need to order everything at the bar. The staff is helpful and knowledgeable. Must try, Collective Arts is close by as well!
Tried Merit over the weekend. Grabbed a few beers to try since I saw the thread. Beer is just ok....if even that. Think they need more time. Much more time.
I was there about 2 weeks ago and picked up one of everything in the bottle shop and they ranged from ok to quite good. The DIPA and wit beer were the 2 best so far, with young rival and Idaho beach house being drinkable but lacklustre. The space is very nice and I will definitely stop in whenever I'm out that way.
Had their milkshake stout the other day that was just 'okay'. A couple fruited sours one was decent.........the sour plum one was not my jam.
Just visited and had a sample flight. Most of the beers were just ok or slightly above par, except for the DDC collaboration which was quite good. Space is great, food is pretty good from what I sampled and it seems like there is only room to improve. My main disappointment is most beers were aligned with what is trendy at the moment, milkshake brews, added lactose to beer, or brews with lots of wheat to get some hazy. Was hoping to grab some brews in the bottle shop but only the base brews were available. I'd revisit it in a while, but for now I'll give it a pass
Visited recently. Huge diacetyl in half the beers I tried. Nice space. Food was fine. Server could care less.
