Are you sure that's not a collab? Because Hammer Smash Face is a popular song by Cannibal Corpse [popular amongst a certain demographic at least]. Seems a little too coincidental to me.

Yes, I believe it's specifically a nod to Jeff Hanneman.

Of the various Trooper beers, I thought Trooper 666 was the best but it seems like that was a one-time thing.

Permanent Funeral is actually my favorite 3 Floyds brew. Had Toxic Maltz recently and really enjoyed it, too. I've had a bunch of the 3 Floyds collaborations but some were so long ago that I don't remember much about them. My friend is pretty involved in the metal scene in Chicago and got to have some Hopped in Half with Obituary a year or so ago.

I thought A Tout Le Monde was a really good beer for the style. A lot of people seemed hung up on the fact that it wasn't like a 12% Triple IPA or something. I did have some conflicted feelings about seeing Mustaine pushing a beer, though.

I don't know if I got a jealous fever reading this thread but I've never even heard of some of these collaborations before. I'd give anything to try that mastodon one. Skeletonwitch, cannibal corpse, amon amarth...jesus
