You've rated 5,149 on here. Do you know if that's the BA high score?

I've got an excel sheet with a handful of columns and some pivot tables. I've graded at least four times more beer on my sheet than I have on here

I only really use untappd, and I'm at about 866 unique beers right now. I've had many more from before I got an untappd account, or things I just forgot to put in. My goal is to hit 1000 unique on St. Patrick's Day, so in other words I have to average about 4 new beers a day until then, wish me luck.

Yeah...this is pretty much the way I roll (I skip the RB score and wants since I don't shop by wants...)I started with just the beer, brewery, and notes and now have a lot more information as ideas came to mind like price, store, etc. I don't track repeats, but I do have a yes/no column for "purchase again".

Can't rely on this innernet thing...who knows how long that's gonna last

Lets see, started drinking in 1976 on Heffenreffer green monsters, stint in Germany, 5 years of college fraternity= lots of beers. Hobby? How much time spent tracking when you could of been drinking?

Similar boat to me. My goal is to hit 1,000 on or before my birthday, which is March 6th. Currently at 925 and I have a Westy 12 waiting to be opened for the occasion.

I got a Westy XII waiting as well, but we're not planning on waiting as long.

Any idea who does? Just curious. I'm guessing well over 10k. And I thought my 13xx was a lot.

Back before he made his profile private, I'm pretty sure I saw that northyorksammy had well over 10,000. I'm pretty sure he's the one with the highest number of reviews (not sure if he uses the hads feature or if he even needs to since his reviews are so short).

I use BA for all of my personal tracking. I'd rather have my own personal notebook though, because when the Internet dies, I'll have nothing.

I think it's him too. I noticed he only does Hads now though.

I started in the hobby back in 1990 and have since tried over 15,000+ beers. I remember James Robertson wrote a book called The Beer Log back in 1992: http://articles.chicagotribune.com/...304110147_1_real-beer-home-brewing-aftertaste

It had pages for tasting notes and descriptions of beers. He went on in 1996 to release the Beer Tasters Log - with thousands of ratings and tasting notes: http://www.amazon.com/The-Beer-Tasters-Log-World-Guide/dp/0882669397/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1391125216&sr=8-5&keywords=fred eckhardt

I considered following in his footsteps and bought a log book but after just a few entries, gave it up. I then took pictures of many of the beers I drank. I still do a bit. But I never really felt the need or desire to spend the time to log every beer and review them. It's all upstairs.

Perhaps if an app like Untappd was around back then, I would have used it. It makes the process incredibly easy. And I'm sure it would have been fun to look back to see what I drank on January 30th, 1995 and where I drank it

    Cheers!

I counted once, but I've forgotten the number since. And that was about 3 years ago or so. If I had to guess a number... Maybe 350-400 now.

I track my beers on a spreadsheet in addition to here on BA.

I use something other than Excel to track what I drink, it's called high-functioning autism.

I really wanted to do this and trust me, I tried. But I drink SOOOO much beer and pulling out my phone to make sure I recorded every beer I drank was becoming a huge pain in the ass. Thus, I gave up after exactly one year. Told myself it was just too much work. I do know that I exceeded 400 different beers in my first year of craft drinking. Not too shabby..

Yep, I am guilty of recording the beers I've sampled. I started an Excel spreadsheet in 1998 listing the beers I'd tried simply to let me know if I had the bottle label (I collect beer bottle labels) and I've kept adding to the spreadsheet ever since - up to about 2,000 different beers tried over 15 years. I organize the beers by date first sampled, brewer, beer name, ABV, type of serving, a brief review, BA rating, beer style classification, if I have the label and what album the label is located.

I keep track of mine on Untappd and beer hunter. If i had kept track back when i started I'm sure I'd be some where near 300. I've only used these apps since September so i'm at a hundred something right now.
