Orange Starfish IPA releasing Friday. Make sure you guys wait until I'm off work to go over there so I don't miss out on a growler.

Hopefully the new IPA is actually carbonated this time. Paying $24 for a 64 oz growler that wasen't carbonated left a bad taste in my mouth. Did Aslin even address the flat beer issue? Everyone giving 4-5 stars on Untappd for a flat IPA is laughable.

Richard said that they were fully aware of the carbonation issue when I was at the brewery last weekend. Hopefully they'll fix it going forward. We see carb issues with other more "mature" breweries like DC Brau all the time so I wouldn't knock them too hard on it quite yet.

Orange Starfish is also going to be at Dominion. Also, on Saturday Aslin is releasing their Biscotti Deceiver varient.

Fully aware yet still charge a premium price, pretty lame unless you let the customers know of the issue before buying.

You guys didn't try it on tap before getting a growler fill? I thought it was delicious even with its carb level.

I don't think that is true on Dominion getting Orange Starfish, I was told it was a brewery only release.

Also, to the carb issue. Let them know next time you are in, it seems they like feedback.

I had a small taster, but I had them fill the growler at the same time since there was a lot of people getting 64oz fills. Your right, I probably should have waited until I tried it. It smelled great, but that beer with zero carbonation was like eating an Oreo without the filling - it's just an unfinished product. There's no way I'm going to fluff an unfinished beer just because they are the only brewery in the area doing the NE style IPA's. They are small and there will be growing pains for sure. They definitely are on the right track though.

Yea, $15/32oz and $24/64oz for flat beer. As said above, should've just had a sample before I filled the growler, but I got FOMO'd. People fill growlers real quick over there, and supplies are super limited.

Good call. I saw the ASLIN post on Domionion's website about Orange Starfish without reading it. Gotta love the free advertising though.

The more recent pics of Neutrino that Aslin has posted look to be much more carbonated. Has anyone tried it in the last few days? I was surprised to see there's still some available.

Does Aslin disclose what types of hops are in their beers? Or if any fruit juice, pulp, etc. was used? I wasn't able to find anything on the website or FB.

No, not really. I've asked while at the brewery and they will definitely tell you. There is one bartender there that has zero idea though. I've asked him about 4 of their IPA's and the hops used, and every time it's "I don't know". Ask the brewers and they will let you know. Also, no fruit juice or anything like that has been added to my knowledge....yet. They seem to not be specific when asked online though. In person they were way more willing to share details.

Their haze seems like it comes mainly from the yeast, which is my only complaint about them. It comes off gimmicky when done this way. You can create that haze in multiple ways, but I've noticed way more yeast in their beers compared to the other NE IPA's I've had. I had about an inch or two of yeast caked on the bottom of the Neutrino growler I had. Having said that, they are only going to get better and learn more. Just an observation.

Just picked up a growler of orange starfish, tasting good. Just a heads up if you are traveling any distance that there is a 64oz limit.

Regarding high amounts of yeast...I can say that one glass of Neutrino made me fart more than any beer had in the last 10 years.
