@hoppytobehere. Astro Zombie is solid! It might be as good as Orange Starfish. Also, Revolution is how you would hope it would be -like a cream sickle though not sweet.

Lastly, I've never seen it as crowded as this here and there is a line for crowlers.

 

Yeah, Astro Zombie is good. Andrew said it was Galaxy and Amarillo, though they are developing a house style that makes them more similar than different...not that I'm complaining.

 

Just FYI, Hawaiian Speedway is on tap at Car Pool, which is 5 minutes down the road.

Hey, has anyone been to Caboose Brewing in Vienna? They have a nice website and the food looks good--plus they're right off the W&OD trail. Wondering about the beer quality...

 

I've never heard a good review, at best people say its just ok.

 

Went to a Christmas beer tasting at Mad Fox and the brewer from Caboose was such an ahole that I've vowed to never go there.

 

Um, pretty sure if it's five mins away from Aslin it would be the Carpool in Herndon.

 

Anybody know the upcoming IPA schedule for Aslin?

 

Small Town on Wednesday. No clue what's in the FVs. Someone else clue us in.

 

Was there yesterday. Off the top of my head, a few of the FVs were a Deceiver variant, Orange Starfish, Stellar Parallax, Bringing Sexy Back, Animal Farm, and I think Mind the Hop.

Was this ever confirmed? It seems like a nasty rumor.

And how good has Aslin been about crowlers? Does it take a while or can you get in and out?

 

I had RAR Reaper and Chopdank over the weekend and simply do not understand the love either of these beers are getting. These are old-school East Coast DIPAs to the fullest extent. Both were way too malty, with Reaper extremely bitter and along the lines of DFH 90 (but worse) and Chopdank a bit like Nugget Nectar (sweeter, less intense than Reaper). I guess I didn't realize people still enjoyed this style of DIPA to the point that the reviews have been so overwhelmingly positive thus far.
