Got 6 crowlers of juice bombs at Aslin, pretty sure one of the owners served me. Gave 10%, which, if you know how much they cost, is more than fair IMO. Cheers.

Because it is walking distance from where I live, I went back to New District today. It was not good. Got their cherry porter on draft. I don't know if it is supposed to be a sour (nothing says it is) or if it was infected, but it was a sour. A smoky, cherry sour porter.

I'll never understand why new breweries (or any brewery, really) think they can pass off an infected beer as a 'sour'. Bad quality control is no way to build a loyal following. Denizens did the same thing, unless they really set out to brew a sour wee heavy or a "brett IPA" that tasted like straight vinegar.

And I'll make a mental note never to come back to your establishment. :stuck_out_tongue:

Had Fair Winds Barley wine yesterday. It was terrible. These types of polls are won by the businesses that push their customers on social media to vote for them. I wouldn't doubt it if every employee and their families are required to log in once a day and vote.

I agree. Their saison is ok but everything else I had from them was forgettable. I'm interested to try their bourbon barrel aged stout when it comes out, but expectations are low.

I've seen dogs at Ocelot most times I go. Not sure about Aslin. I think I remember seeing them promoting a bring your dog day before. Hopefully someone else knows or give them a call to be sure. Aslin is small so it can get crowded and noisy.

Both Ocelot and Aslin allow dogs.

Anyone know what hops are used in Stellar Parallax?

I think is it a blend of Galaxy, citra, and simcoe? Not 100% sure though. Excited to try it today!

Just stopped by for the first time to have a flight -- Stellar Parallax was my favorite by far; looking forward to enjoying my crowler this week.

Went on Sunday and tried everything. I was kind of expecting good to great hoppy beers and bad to decent other styles, but I was really impressed with both the Kolsch and farmhouse. The smores stout was sweet, but done well. Both Bringing Sexy and Stellar Paradox were fantastic, Stellar being my favorite. I got a crowler of both and cannot wait to try some of the other hoppy creations in the future. The place was also nicer for hanging out than I expected.
For those who have had all their hoppy offerings, how do you rank them?

Prob gonna hit up Aslin between a wedding and reception this Sat. Who has a wedding at 2, then reception start at 5? Just seems like a big gap. But to the important part. With Aslin, are IPAs only crowler fills now? No growler (32 or 64)? And it's 2pp per IPA? $13 per crowler? That does seem on the high side, but cheaper than driving to tree house.

    Thanks in advance

This is a near impossible task. The profiles of their IPA/IIPAs are very similar, and there is some batch variation.

The best one is always the one in my glass. :sunglasses:
