    Hope it's not a 3 hour ceremony.

Yes, crowlers for the IPAs unless they are out of cans, then you can fill your growlers. 2pp per IPA. $13 per.

I didn't have the most recent batch of Mind the Hop, but when I had the first batch it was my favorite of theirs so far. As was said, they definitely have a house style and their IPAs are more similar than different from each other. But Mind the Hop had more bitterness, which I actually prefer to the straight juice bomb.

Hit up the Fair Winds-Ocelot-Aslin trifecta this weekend.

BA Ghost of the Mariner, My Sweet Virginia, Bringing Sexy Back all outstanding.

Fair Winds to the other 2 is probably close to an hour drive.

Damn, right on. That is some really good time, you must have got lucky with traffic. It takes me about 40 minutes to drive from Aslin to Alexandria.

Dunno...google maps says the toll road would 31 mins between Aslin and FW, Faiefax County Pkway would be 38 minutes. I'd drive the extra 7 mins to save on the tolls...that way I'd have extra cash to tip my bartender.

So probably slightly outside the "metro DC area" but my wife just sent me this article naming Frederick, MD as a top beer city: http://matadornetwork.com/trips/17-best-cities-craft-beer-world/

Flying Dog is solid but not spectacular IMO, I haven't heard too much hype around monocacy, and haven't even heard of the others they mentioned. Any truth to this being a hidden gem or does the article just miss the mark. I'm thinking the latter since it has some obvious omissions (Grand Rapids, San Diego, Richmond, etc). Would love to hear what others think.

As someone who is a big fan of both Flying Dog and Brewer's Alley/Monocacy, I still can't fathom how Frederick made this list.

Flying Dog is garbage in my opinion. Monocacy Brewtus is legit and very underrated. I haven't heard of the other stuff on that list.

Figured I wasn't missing out on anything too great. Definitely some odd selections in the list.

@jacewg I heard that you're going to be featuring/hosting several "local" breweries sometime during SAVOR week at Meridian Pint - any details on this you can provide? The line-up sounded awesome - is everything finalized?

I assume you're referring to the Ocelot/Aslin/The Answer/Redbeard/Triple Crossing event.

All of those breweries are confirmed. The beer list is not finalized, but I suspect it will lean heavily toward IPA/Big Stout/Sour.

There may or may not be one more brewery added.

Tuesday, May 31 at Meridian Pint.

I haven't had all their offerings, but as hoppytobehere they are all different somewhat, so "the best one is always the one in my glass! ":grinning:

haven't see anything about the DC Brau event the other day (maybe I missed it). I was curious how the collab beers were received. untappd ratings were solid, whatever that means
