Very true re: Simcoe. Surly Wet last year was all Simcoe and it was a dry white wine bomb.

 

Small Town is a little different this batch. Darker, and if they're only using Simcoe, then that's a change. I think there was citra in there before, maybe one other hop. Still great though.

 

I scored some bottles of Ocelot's Wicked Garden IIPA, and it's pretty f'ing amazing. Highly recommended, maybe my favorite ever from them. Anybody else try this?

 

I tried Wicked Garden today and picked up a bottle. It was real good as was Vandals. But I thought Home was the best thing they had today.

 

I would like the finish to smooth out a bit but hop flavor and aroma is money. Very good beer.

 

I can see that, but I'm a fan of big, almost unbearable bitterness. I think in a week it will mellow out a little though.

 

Who's going out to Ocelot today?

 

Guys. BBA My Sweet Virginia is sooooooooo good

 

Just finished my bottle of Wicked Garden, not quite as bright as the very best DIPAs for me, but still pretty great.

 

Rainy day seems like the perfect day to go to Ocelot and Aslin. Did you guys drink all the good still or will there be anything left today?

 

Was at Ocelot today. No barrel aged beers but the draft board included many other beers from the anniversary party.

 

Anyone pick up the My Sweet Virginia bottles yet? Was wondering what size they are if going for $20 per. Would be a little steep if 500mL, but I could justify a 750. Thought it was an outstanding BA BW and would love to let a bottle rest for a while.

 

I got one, its 750 mL. $20 is a lot, but I'm happy to support Ocelot and the beer is great.

 

The beer is awesome, I picked up five. The bottle of Wicked Garden I had was great as well. Just a tad undercarbed. Love having them close by.

 

Were they doing fills of BA My Only Friend or is it just for local consumption?

 

No growlers just samples and full pours, $4 and $8 respectively. I'd recommend skipping this one not the best BA stout...

 

I thought BA My Only Friend was awesome, I can't wait until they bottle it.

 

Good to know, was going to go today and grab a bottle or two. I've found quite a few of their beers to be slightly undercarbed.

 

I wouldn't let that dissuade you, it's an amazing beer.
