Apparently 3 Stars has a new, super hazy juice bomb:

How's Master of Karate from Aslin this batch? Delicious as usual? I had a random person from Cali PM me asking if I had any to trade.

Haven't had the new batch but got some crowlers this past weekend and a few weren't properly sealed. I would check before sending out for a trade.

    Seconded.

I have sent four crowlers out for trade. I had one leaker. It wasn't punctured, just leaked from where they sealed it is our best guess. Luckily, I used zip lock bags. On the plus side, I opened a Champion/ Sun that was filled on 4/29 last night and the carbonation was excellent. Multiple latte's worth of suds. Three weeks, no problem.

i've seen multiple people say it is better than the last batch. i've seen no one say it is worse than the last batch. i just hope they are still doing crowler fills on saturday.

Is Champion of the Sun always sub-par or just the last batch (that was released right around the Home* bottle release)?

Enjoyed the last release a lot. It's little more bitter than their other IPAs, but it's damn good, especially after it warms up a little.

Aggregating scores, this is what I see:

Master of Karate is the best
    Orange Starfish is second best
    Astro Zombie third best

then Mind the Hop and Small Town/ Ontario and Stellar Parallax next tier

then Bringing Sexy Back/ Champion of the Sun next tier

    Neutrino is probably their worst.

(limited to just their ipas and dipas.)

    some may disagree, of course.

Master of Karate is the best.

Ontario and Mind the Hop are 2-3.

Orange Starfish is way down the list (imo).

IMO all are very good, but will differ from person to person due to each beer having huge hop falvors. Example: If you don't like Neutrino, then you probably don't like Galaxy hops or single hopped galaxy beers.

Their stouts and berliners are starting to be next level too.

The initial batch of Mind the Hop was my absolute favorite Aslin beer. This recent batch was good, but a little different. Orange Starfish is up there for me as well. But all their IPAs are more similar than different.

In Ocelot news, I just had my last bottle of Wicked Garden. Amazing beer, totally love it.

I was there last night and had Master of Karate for the first time (can't compare it to previous batches). I thought it was great and the carb was normal. Having 3 of their IPA's side by side, they were all very similar with a few minor differences. Karate seemed surprisingly boozy next to Dunley Place (only 0.4% ABV difference). I ranked them:

    1) Orange Starfish
    2) Master of Karate
    3) Dunley Place

Really splitting hairs though, I would be happy to see any of these on tap the next time I make it out there.

I forgot that one! They have so many! I'd put that in the same tier as Mind/ Hop, Small/ Ontario, etc. And i'd be willing to bump Astro Zombie down to that tier too. They are all very close. I think one reason Neutrino is last is because of the carbonation problems they have been having with that. I think they had carbonation problems with two separate batches of neutrino; definitely the one time I got it it was flat.

All of Aslin's IPAs taste so similar that it seems kind of crazy to talk about tiers. Its basically the same beer every time with slight variation.
