It's a great beer, but I've had some palate fatigue lately and haven't enjoyed it as much as I should have.

Their new sour is great though! Love what Ocelot and Aslin are doing with their kettle sours.

Yeah, delicious! Definitely thought it was the best of the IPAs they have on now. I showed up on Sat about 1pm and didn't have a problem getting a seat at the bar-- don't know how much longer it will stay like that. They also had Two Lost Souls bottles left at $6 per 500ml.

Any ideas when See the Light will come back on from Ocelot? That was my favorite of theirs so far. Also, have sales of My Old Friend began?

    Hi!

that's not true, we work with them really closely. However, we might be something of a special case because we've developed a long and complex working relationship.

It's complicated. We live at beltway one week out of every month, and work really closely with all of their excellent staff. We oversee brew days for three or four different beers that week, monitor and plan blends from our barrel library, etc etc. While the other 3 weeks we're in NYC, they are cool enough to handle the cellarmanship of the beers with close attention to calendar we agree upon in advance. So we rely on them a lot; we have a lot of mutual trust in each other because beltway and grimm have really grown up together. canning and bottling is handled by mobile bottlers and canners.

We also brew 1 or 2 beers a month in NYC at flagship on staten island.

SlothB77, so happy to hear you bring this up. I respect that this is the way Grimm has to do business currently. It would be very, very cool to be able to get some distro.

Clearly Grimm is aiming at a market we don't fit into exactly (SF & NY). Gotta admit, it hurts a little though that we don't get more than a tap takeover every quarter with hilarious pricing and air-gapping (growlers) to boot.

We get it, you're young and still expanding, but plead don't forget about us either. We might not be as hot as San Fran or NY, but we keep it real.

NY yes, but where are you getting SF? Grimm sends their IPAs to NY state only. Their bottles are distributed via Shelton Brothers, and while the ultimate destination of those bottles is entirely up to Grimm, they most definitely hit more places than SF and more states than CA. They've been known to pop up in certain DC bottle shops, and can be found at Churchkey, Sovereign, and Pizza Paradiso as well (and possibly more, that's just all I know of off the top of my head).

I found a couple Grimm bottles at State Line in MD a few weeks ago.

Thanks for the reply, good to know. I went to an event where the Beltway people were there and they were talking about how the relationship between them and the brewer. I may have misinterpreted what they were saying, but it seemed to me that they did all the brewing and the client wasn't involved. Regardless, I think Beltway does very good work.

Only complaint I have about Grimm at beltway are the inflated prices and the deflated growler fills

I am getting that from their original 1000 page thread berto. Anyway, I didn't mean bottles for table service or bar service. I was more referring to being able to buy a can or bottle to go. I know pipe town traders gets some stuff from time to time, but I meant something maybe a little bit more regular than an occasional kettle sour finding a handle. Love Grimm, would love to see it more often.

SF absolutely does not get cans, so whoever said that in the original Grimm thread was wrong. Only NY state gets them. I also don't believe they get bottles anymore regularly than anywhere else Shelton distros, but that's entirely on Shelton, not Grimm. And just FYI, even in NYC where the bulk of Grimm cans go, you're hard pressed to get many/any cans as they sell out within several hours at almost every store they hit.

That's on Shelton. Seems like nearly all of their DC shipments go straight to bars. It's hard to even find Fantome around town, outside of the odd bottle of Noel or Hiver, and that stuff sits on shelves almost everywhere else.

Okay bottles not cans, got it. Though you seem to concur now that SF does get some, cool.

    Fucking Shelton.

If you buy beer directly from Shelton, you have to buy it a pallet at a time.

I'm not sure I know any bottle shops who have the space to store an entire pallet of beer at once.

Downtown Crown gets Shelton Brah's stuff, so maybe they will get some Grimm stuff eventually.

It's probably been said elsewhere, but Pipetown Traders and the beer/wine store in Union Market get Grimm stuff sometimes. Definitely have seen bottles of Purple Prose and Super Symmetry both places, though I'm not sure what else (if anything) they've had.
