figured this would be a decent spot to ask, but anyone in any good DC area IP trade groups / beer groups in general on Facebook? Just moved here and looking for the local scene a bit.

Just as a quick clarification, these were the beers corresponding to the blind "numbers" at the event, not the order in which the beers finished.

3 Stars Hopfunk fest is one of the best run fests I've been to. Great selection, generous pours, and pretty much no lines for anything.

Other Half's hoppy beers are no joke. Miami Madness was the first beer to kick and for good reason; the other Wakefield beer was a mess, though.

 

OH doesn't play. Lupulin powder? Shit is next level chronic.

 

Does anyone else find Ocelot's IPAs to be undercarbed? Seems more often than not they have very little carbonation, most recently my bottles of Planets Align but there have been numerous others.

 

How was the anniversary party? Not too bummed I missed it given the price and seems like they released/releasing al the beers in crowlers.

 

Is there anywhere in the DC area that would have cans of double duckpin?

 

I'd start by calling Magruders or Rodmans - they both got decent sized amounts o the last batch about a month ago

 

there is a notable release thread, you may have better luck posting there or reading some of the recent posts, DD comes up often.

also, the 'DC area' is huge so you might want to be a little more specific as to where you are going to be

 

in addition, glens garden market stocks only? local beer I believe and they generally have double duckpin.

 

Coming down from NYC to visit a friend in Arlington for the weekend. Anybody from around Richmond happen to be coming to DC any time between Saturday and Tuesday and willing to bring some stuff from The Veil?

 

Check the ISO:FT thread there are a ton of Virginians with Veil that'll trade for NY stuff. Especially if it's in person.

 

Also don't sleep on The Answer or Triple Crossing if you can get them. Less hype but equal quality just less eccentric. Undoubtedly worth trying.
