metro detroit tasting groups?

    I've searched the forums and came up empty, maybe I overlooked something. Is there a group in the metro Detroit area that does a regular tasting event? I have some good stuff to share and would like to try some new things.

    Sure is! There's a tasting on Saturday November 3rd that a BA is hosting (can't remember his name).

    Sorry about that. The tasting is at my house this Saturday in White lake at 7:00 pm. Anyone is in the metro detroit area is welcome to come. Send me a message if you want the address and I will make sure you know where I live.

    I heard a lot of shit went down with having the public forum posts about the tastings. Apparently it got to be a little too much.

    This is all hearsay though. Anybody in the group care to comment?

    I've never been to the metro Detroit tastings and may be interested sometime.

    Only comment I will make is that open invites can be troublesome at times and have been in the past. Tastings can quickly grow too large and cumbersome for our gracious hosts and it's important to make sure everyone is enjoying themselves responsibly.

    Yeah, that's what I have heard. I hear it's a great group of guys around Detroit, but that was a little off-putting to hear.

    not calling anyone out but as dan said when there are "new" people that no one has vouched for start showing up to tastings and disrespecting the host and their house its then time to put the brakes on open invites.

    I'm glad I asked about this. I made it out to Mike's house (unclerudy) and had a blast. Small group, great beer, awesome food. Thanks again for having me out as a "new guy" I will make a point to be at any in the future.

    Hey guys, sorry...didn't meian to take full pours when sharing a bomber with 15-20 others. I'll make it up at the next tasting and bring done tasty home brews :wink:
