Mexican Cake 2015

    Greetings. Wondering if anybody has any insight on when Mexican Cake will be released this year. If I recall, this usually happens in May. Also, with NC finally getting some Westbrook goods (Thanks guys!) should we expect to see Cake in the area too?

    I missed out on getting a bottle in 2014 but was fortunate to at least have some. So any insight from the brewers or any of the BAs is appreciated.

    It is usually mid-May at the brewery and SC. We get distro in AL and it usually lands the last week or so of May.

    Mexi Cake was originally their 1st Anniversary beer, wasn't it? But yeah, since then it's morphed into a "cinco de mayo" i.e. May release

    It came to ATL in mid-June last year. Both Mexican Cake and BA Mexican Cake were slightly "off schedule," and WB rightfully makes no apologies for this. The beer is ready when it's ready.

    I wouldn't count on it hitting NC. I think they are still in the slow-rollout can-only phase. I could be wrong and if NC sees Shane's DIPA in distro that will be a good sign of things to come.

    In your defense, Shane's hasn't even made it to GA yet. Was just bottled this week or last if I recall. If you haven't seen it by the end of the month then I would assume it isn't coming.

    Shanes bottles are still tap room only thus far even in Charleston. As for Cake it seems to be in most places by Memorial Day give or take.

    Barrel Aged variants were released in mid to late September last year. It all depends on when they think the barrels are ready. IIRC, it was less than a week between the announcement and when they went on sale.

    Yes Mexican cake was 1st anniversary beer which was January 2012. It appeared again in May 2013 and May 2014. I never saw bombers in 2013, was just draft only, at least here in AL. We got bottles last year in late May and actually get a decent amount of it.

    Where in NC is Westbrook beer found? I haven't seen it around Greensboro.

    I've seen it in Sams in Durham and Bestway in Greensboro. Other BAs have reported it elsewhere on separate threads.

    It's been at Salud, Good Bottle, Common Market and other similar shops around Charlotte. Think I might have even saw it at Harris Teeter but could be wrong on that.
