she should be able to get at least 1 bottle from bottles, they have a good amount and are only doing 1 bottle limits

I think my mom picked a great weekend for a family trip to Charleston! I had planned to go to Westbrook anyway.

If by RVA you are referring to Richmond, Va then unfortunately not. Westbrook does not distribute to the state.

 

You already there? The reason I ask is that we are headed there tomorrow for our family vacay, and I was wondering how likely it would be to find some sitting around then.

 

To elaborate on what @gothedistance said regarding Rock Hill/Ft Mill: the allocation for the region is significantly lower than it was last year (which was itself significantly lower than the year before). If you don't have a solid guarantee that you're getting some I definitely wouldn't drive any significant distance expecting to walk into a store and find any. I'm not trying to be negative and wish I had better news to report but that's the reality of the situation.

 

You should cruise on over to Westbrook's FB page. Their responses to people's comments on their page makes me an even bigger fan. That, plus the fact that they're packaging more Biscotti Break right now.

 

Are they still selling it at the brewery at this point?

 

According to a post from WB on FB, there was as of three hours ago. Unless the guy who claimed that WB was treating their Charleston customers like "stepchildren" went and cleaned them out.

That's hilarious! I don't know the context of that dude's statement, but an unannounced, middle of the week, silent release does nothing but benefit Charleston residents. Very few out of towners swooping in, buying half the stock, and causing it to sell out in an hour. If you live in Charleston all you have to do is drive over at your leisure during a multiple day window and easily pick up your 6 (or less) bottles.

 

Anybody hear if Greens in Columbia has released it yet?

 

None of the bottle shops I have talked to in Savannah have heard a thing so far. Most tell me to check back on Thursday afternoon at the earliest. I'd like to pickup two bottles, one to drink now and one to cellar until next year. If I can get a few more than that to share with friends I'd be fine with that as well.

If anyone in the Savannah area hears anything, let me know. I will do the same using either PM or this thread.

Westbrook replied, "Sometimes machinery and other things behind the scenes break. Stuff happens. Aren't you thankful that it ended up not being released here first? Because I'm pretty sure we would hear complaints about neighboring states driving to SC and buying up the local share. No matter what we do, we are just trying our best and realize we can't make everyone happy. Thank you for your passion. Ole!"

*sigh* Beer is supposed to be fun. There is no crying in beer. Amiright?

 

Sounds like some people need to attend a COMMUNICATION class............your loyal beer
customers need to know what is going on so they can make plans/not make plans to attend a beer release that
will / will not happen at the brewery. Taking the stance that we will hear complaints no matter what we do so deal with it is not right and poor customer service IMHO.

This is a problem many brewers would like to have and those that do have developed strategies to address
it. How about reaching out to other breweries for some advice on how to best resolve? This is what you signed up for when you opened a brewery / business...Ole!!!!!
