That's sort of what the label looked like to me. Hard to tell, though.

Last year's thread was 35 pages long, and we're only on page 6. How else are we going to catch up?

I completely disagree. They're going to sell out their entire supply no matter what, so catering to a certain crowd is pointless. If I was a brewery, I'd want far less of a shit show by releasing it midweek, with no fanfare.

People will ALWAYS complain, regardless of what steps you take. It's the American way, we're spoiled, entitled assholes, so how dare anyone try and go out of their way to not cater to us 100%.

Has anyone found it in Rock Hill/Fort Mill/Charlotte yet? I guess we may have to wait until tomorrow

Ha, at least there is something to be happy about in AL

BTW, from what I have seen in my short time here, there is A LOT of crying in beer.

I think I'll drown my sorrows tonight by drinking one.

But, but...you have Straight to Ale. That's something else to be happy about, right?

Interesting take but I couldn't disagree with you more. It isn't their job to cater to people who live outside of their home town. They can sell out of bottles with a silent release so they don't have to announce is so that people from NC, GA, VA drive down and buy up this beer but don't regularly support other releases. I don't think this is the perfect way to handle it but they were going to deal with complaining no matter how the release went down.

I took it more as trying to take care of their community than allowing hoarders/traders to load up

I think I like the idea of sending some out in distro and then silently launch at the brewery.

You are correct - do not cater to people out of state but give those folks a fair shot at it. Silent release on Saturday would have the same effect but allow those who want to be there a chance to take a ride for some beer they love. Silent release on a Wednesday says we want an easy release, will sell out either way and care less about our out of state customers. People out of state buy a ton of their year round beers and many ride down several times a year for these releases - they all got the finger with this model.

It is their business and they can do whatever they want but I think they took the easy way out and acted selfishly. Craft brewery is about the trading and the releases - it forms a community that helps craft brewers by folks telling others how great their beers are and serves as a free marketing dept if you will. Not a fan of this model at all!!!!
