No. And I doubt it will make an appearance. I'd be shocked actually. But one can still hope.

Wut? Craft beer isn't about the releases or the trading. Those are two things that have completely become focked in the last 6 years. I promise you, tickers and traders do not buy more Westbrook beer than the locals I see in the tap room every week. Your comment was disconnected from reality. Big beer releases are a pain in the arse and generally piss off the regulars. Besides, this beer was already released all over town. If you wanted it so bad, it was out there.

I got there about 5:15 this evening and the pallet was down to the last layer of cases. I was told that was the last of it. :slight_frown:

Word is 12 cases are making it to NC distro. Your guess is as good as mine where they land

This is fun to watch. The hunt is on! I read all of these comments in a Jaques Cousteu voice as if looking for elusive sea creatures.

Definitely check tomorrow. I can't guarantee it, but if it lands, the delivery route will go from Frugal to Southern to Stateline Elite, all btw 9 a.m. and noon.

I had heard that also, so hopefully we'll see more pop up later locally.

Any chance that any of that batch makes it into distro?

You may not be a fan of the silent release, but I am sure Westbrook was very happy about it. The word is already out there that MC is a great beer, or else it would sit on the shelves. Why make huge to-do over it?

Bell's does this same kind of release mechanism. It takes care of those who come in each and every day after work and have a couple pints or those who stop in a couple times a week to purchase the year round beers. Why not treat them first? If the locals tell everyone about it at that point, well they had a good shot at getting it.

If you don't like how a business operates, don't support that business.

I know for one that I may not be able to get my half case of MC this year, but damn I still enjoy drinking Gose on those hot summer days.

Idk why people are crapping on you but a agree 100%. I make a trip over to their brewery at least once or twice a month. It takes me around 5 hours to get there. Yea I go to Charleston not only for Westbrook (I think Coast is as good or better and plus the food...the food) but I have spent close to $200 a month there for a while. Silent release......I'm screwed. Cant get there during the week.....no communication....its a brewery, yes they dont have a solid date set a two weeks ahead of time but they know when they are bottling a few days ahead of time. Communication its just good business. Havent been to impressed with their management. Pick a routine and stick with it, I dont know what to expect from them half the time.

Agreed here. Why does the brewery have to notify anybody of a release? There's nothing out there saying they "have" to do anything. But they make damn good beer. And I'll still buy it.

I think it was a really good call to do it silently.

If you are going for just MC at the brewery I'd call ahead, from the sounds of it, they are out until they bottle the next batch of it.

Well, the plan was to drive to the brewery for MC, but now we're going to hit up some bottle shops in the area before heading to the brewery as they open the doors. We'll probably hit up Coast as well. The way I see it - even if we leave with no Mexican Cake, we're bound to find some good beer.

My thing is all the hoarders are local i heard numerous people today talking about how they had 20 or more bottles and thats because they come back the next day and buy more.... Do a silent release ....i love it but tag id's and let everyone get a crack for a week that would solve the hoarding issue locals got tons i drink the bejesus out of westbrook and im from rock hill id like to be able to drive down and get 6 from the brewery without having to make life altering adjustments. Nothing wrong with that. That being said everyone quit hating on WB afterall they make the best cake ive ever had.....cept for your mom ;-)

I'm okay with a silent release as long as it's a barrel aged variant, I'm going to need at least a four hours notice.
