I can imagine! We did end up going to the brewery later that day. They had tapped some older kegs of the regular Mexican Cake so I at least got to try it. One of the few beers that I feel was worth the hype.

Sure, but half the fun of the Sexual Chocolate release is the shenanigans of the release itself! You certainly don't have to camp out to get beer (even for BASC), but showing up and bottle sharing all night is part of the event

If you live anywhere near ATL, waiting for it to hit distro is probably a better bet if you just want a couple bottles. Demand was high last year, but distro and release of Mexican Cake at the major stores was well handled, IMO.

Agreed. Distro is good throughout Atlanta, and even places you wouldn't think of get a case. I nabbed three bottles at a local hole without even trying.

A guy on instagram drinking a 14 cake at the brewery said the release is 5/24.... Sunday? Really? I hope not!

Last year they announced a case limit and made no mention of how many bottles would be released so there wasn't a huge initial rush as most (like myself) figured they would have a large allotment to sell as this is a pretty widely distributed beer. Well they didn't...and had to cut limits to 6 and ran out in less then 90 minutes. I got a few of last bottles they gave out that day and lots of disappointed people still coming in.

Still can't for the life of me figure out why they don't sell as much as they can at the brewery release day instead of sending it through the distributor. An extra 20% in their pocket by cutting out the middle man seems like a no-brainer.

Would be nice if this hit shelves that quick but I'm not going to hold my breath. I'll be in Fort Mill next weekend and plan to stop by the local bottle shop for some beers to bring back to VA

I had a feeling it would be memorial day weekend when my beer calendar is already booked with golden angel/maceo release. Too many releases not enough time!

Has NC gotten any bomber format releases yet? You sure they will allocate them there? If anyone in NC will get any itll be the triangle most likely.

Well the folks at Sams Quik Shop and Tasty Beverage in Raleigh both seem to be under the impression they'll get it. So I have my fingers crossed.

True, those are the places I expect it would show up. Still I would figure it will be mighty limited. Skip mexican cake.. just give me more citrus ninja plzz

That guy is incorrect. Relax, people. There were 4 batches brewed this year. It shouldn't be super difficult to get, if you live in the area it is distributed. BTW, the batch we tried was quite tasty....

A quick Twitter search shows that a bunch of stores in Alabama are selling Cake as of today.

Definitely on sale in Huntsville, AL today. Alabama got 4th anniversary early too. Not sure how that is happening
