Mexican Cake Release?

Definitely not. We did not pick up any this week, nor do I expect any in the next 2 weeks.

 

Guy at the tasting room yesterday said it was still in the fermenter.

Oh, well. Can't have them all.

 

Seems like this is always a crap shoot. One year early May release, next year June.

 

When has this ever been released in June? I feel like it's always been at some point in May.

 

It has been in June before and it sounds like June this year. If the beer is still in fermentor and a local distributor said he does not expect it in two weeks, looks like June. Maybe the brewery gets it late may, but distro definitely looks like June.

 

Never been June before this would be a first if it is

 

Hoping for the week of 23rd I'll be in town and never been to WB

 

My sources indicate that the delay is caused by a broken part that is keeping it in the fermentor.

 

I posted this earlier in the thread but the last 3 years it was a late May release, and we were able to pick up a little more in June.

 

Did not hit South Georgia till the first week of June last year

 

Last year was end of May, and Coffee Cake came out during the second week of June.

 

Edmunds Oast has 2014 bottles of BBA Mexican cake and tequila BA for $148/bottle.

Didn't matter though because the beer at Ednunds Oast was top of the fuckin line. Do yourself a favor and go there instead of WB if you are limited on time.

 

Last year, as I mentioned earlier, they did 2 bottling runs. I just looked at my '15 bottles and they are stamped 5/13/15 and 6/4/15. So...some were released in May and others in June. Everyone is right!

 

It has hit distro in AL first of June multiple times....

 

Are you serious? They haven't taken a price increase on any of their year round beers since they opened their doors. Mexican cake has gone up $5 a case wholesale in that time period, less than 50 cents a bottle.

 

So typically WB releases regular cake first and the other cake variants get released weeks later?

 

Any chance I'll be able to find this in Asheville when I'm there over Memorial Day?

 

No one here is talking about what they charge wholesale...cakes have gone up over 50% in to years, both the regular and BA versions. Some of their brews are reasonable, and very average, but when they make a good one, they make sure they charge accordingly!

 

When people talk about a beer's release date, they typically mean when the brewery releases it, not when it happens to show up in out-of-state distro.
