I will be in Miami next week, staying at the Fountainbleau. I am sure that their beer will not be that impressive...any local suggestions? Really want to try Civil Society at place that we can Uber to. Thanks in advance!

Boxelder is a 15 min uber ride, jwakefield would be a no brainer if you venture into wynwood. If you’re making a day of it head to union beer store also

Wynwood area is your best bet if you are looking for short distance transportation. J Wakefield, Wynwood Brewing, Concrete Beach and Veza Sur are there. J Wakefield is highly recommended, Wynwood is good, haven't been to the other two spots but mixed reviews. Box Elder is good too, bottle shop/taproom. Union Beer Store isn't that far from Wynwood, in Little Havana and is another bottle shop/taproom like Box Elder. There is a Total Wine on the Beach as well that shouldn't be too far from where you are staying.

Barracuda Grill in the Grove often has Civil on tap as well...

As other's have said, Wynwood is the place to head to. I travel to Miami most weeks and typically stay either in South Beach or on the Bay so know the area decently well (at least for a visitor). There's nothing of interest, beer-wise, in South Beach. Plenty of places to drink if you like craft cocktails (and are fine with paying $15-$20 per drink including tip), but not so much for beer.

My circuit tends to be Boxelder (which has had some Civil Society on tap fairly regularly), Wakefield, and then Kush for dinner if I want more beer or Coyo Taco if I don't. Plenty of other places to eat and drink in Wynwood. Veza Sur and Concrete Beach are more 'hangout' places than Wakefield to me (i.e. the beer isn't as good, but they've got more space to hang out in than Wakefield does), but certainly not bad to visit. I've not been particularly impressed with Wynwood Brewing, but might be worth taking a look at if you have extra time. If you like mezcal, there's also Melinda's 2 blocks from Boxelder on the north side of Wynwood.

I 2nd the suggestion to take a look at Union Beer Store as well if you have some extra time. Also a good tap list, and right in Little Havanna so there's solid Cuban food everywhere around you.

If they do, 50% that they'll actually have it and/or the staff know what it is. Went into Ricky's twice while staying around South Beach, both times were pretty awful.

Highly suggest Union, really good rotating beers on tap and bottles/cans to take home with really cool bartenders.

    J. Wakefield also has good stuff on tap always and you can combine that with strolling around Wynwood and checking out the area.

Ricky's is hit or miss like treznor said, last time I went the bartender poured me the wrong beer 2 times before asking another one and finding out that it was no longer available.

The Abbey is really the only brewery on south beach, but it is always pretty smoky inside which is off-putting to me
