I guess these beers are all from homebrewers that are starting their own breweries and won't be available until "later this fall". The "Sea Honey, They're Grapes" Berliner Weiss sounds pretty interesting, made with honey and sea grapes from a South FL park. Did anyone attend the homebrewer contest at Riverside Market last week and try any of these or has tried them?

Lauderale is, in fact, opening up in Ft. Lauderdale (the name is a pun, get it?!) so they aren't really making Miami beers...

Yeah that's just what the article was called "Miami's 5 best new craft beers" but obviously it includes all of South FL not just Miami. A couple of the ones listed sounded good.

Cool stuff, happy to have more breweries in S florida.
Though I avoid Miami like the plague.

This looks more like a home brew competition as opposed to commercial breweries.

Those kiddies at LauderAle don't know anything about beer. I sat across from them in Riverside Market while they were discussing marketing tactics, beer gear (clothes, logos, glasses, labels), saying eventually they could contain CCB in the Broward market. Also talked about getting equipment, which by entering the homebrew contest, I assume they got. Hopefully, they found a friend that knows what he's doing when it comes to brewing instead of just discussing branding.

    What does contain CCB mean?
Like, stop it from coming in? Or...I'm confused...IDK lol

I actually met the guys on Saturday while giving a tour at Due South and they actually know a hell of a lot about beer. Their questions were beyond advanced compared to most questions I get on tours. Yes they may already have equipment, for homebrewing. They have aspirations of going commercial so they were likely talking about that kind of equipment.

The LauderAle guys are serious... they are already cobbling together commercial-style equipment and moving into a warehouse facility. They... look like... they know what they're doing?

I went to High School with one of the main dudes... can't comment on their beer knowledge, as I haven't spoke to the guy in about a decade (and now live 1500 miles away), lol.
